The GOP is scrambling to stop this Paul movement. They're running scared, which leads me to believe maybe Ron Paul really is bigger than these Internet polls and has a very good chance of becoming the GOP candidate.

RON PAUL 2012

You guys said the same thing in 2008 too, he didn't win. What makes this time any different?

You guys? You seem to be mistaken... The thought of voting for that socialist Obama never once crossed my mind. Please, tell me who you would like to be our next President, I need a good laugh.

Firstly, Obama is not a socialist. I know the word have become so overused as to have lost it's meaning but, even the Socialist party of America says he isn't a socialist. if they won't claim his ass I think that's the end of that.

As for who I want in office. Why does it matter? They aren't calling the shots anyway.

As for 2008, I was referring to RP's campaign in 08. I was around here for that one. Everyone said he'd win, he didn't. Heck I even voted in the primary for him. It's a lost cause and when reality comes back and bites you in the butt I hope you take it to heart. Ya'll will just vote for Perry or Romney when they win anyway.

Listening to a political party is no way to think for yourself. If you don't think Obama isn't the slightest bit of a socialist, here's the Steve Wynn, the CEO of Wynn Resorts, shedding some light on this issue.

As for who you stand behind in the next Presidential nomination, as much as you might disagree, it is important. If you can't stand up for who or what you believe in you might as well fall back in line like a good sheep.

I'll do some editing too I guess: If Paul doesn't get the GOP candidacy, I will not be voting for Romney or Perry. I will exercise my rights as a voter and write in Paul's name. Now, more than ever, it is very important to stick to your words and beliefs.

And quoting another man is no way to think for yourself is it? Ron Paul is running as a Republican, you have contradicted yourself,.

I am thinking for myself, I know Ron Paul won't win. You just don't like that I have the nerve to tell you that you are wasting your time. Just because i don't agree with you doesn't mean I'm a sheep. Ron Paul is just a dream and it will always be that.

In their report on this debate, all the major news channels I saw in the Bay area were obviously obediantly following orders to not even SAY Ron Paul's name... and went out of their way to say everyone else's and quote something about them.

It was so creepily Big Brother obvious, but it's a sure sign of how afraid and threatened they are.

No way, Ron Paul is running as a Republican??! I guess I should pay attention more often
How am I contradicting myself, because I used a liberal Democrat as an example of just one of the many people who disagree with Obama's policies? You should really stop putting words into people's mouths, I am by no means offended by you not supporting Ron Paul or the fact you call him a "dream," but I am slightly offended that you would ASSuME I voted for Obama.

I don't care what liberal democrats think of Obama, that is not the subject at hand. You said he was socialist, I told you the actual socialist party says he is not. They are socialists, i figure they would know one would they see one. I didn't say you voted for Obama. I think you just have some issues with reading. If you will note in my original post i never said Obama. You just went there.

ATS suffers from what i call "Insulation Syndrome". You spend most of your time talking with people who are like you and believe the same things you do, therefore you have an inflated sense of how many people actually share those views. How does that apply to Ron Paul? As a woman with average friends all I have to do is ask "What do you think of Ron Paul". I generally get a "Who?" or an eye roll. His name only comes up among his political ardent who really seem to annoy conservatives in my town. I've found this to be true with almost every group of average people I have encountered. Big on the internet does not equal big in real life.

Start flaming guys, but the reality here is Paul will never win the nod. Assassination fantasies are pointless, the guy will never win and you know it. maybe he will run as a third party candidate and split the Conservative vote. Stop putting all your faith in this guy like he is the Messiah and move on to something productive because this bird is never coming off the ground guys.

Not a flame, but what the hell are you talking about? Faith? Messiah? Why do people want to resort to religion comparisons with paul supporters? That makes no since at all, if it was, then he would be a shoe in with all the religious nuts in the world, don’t you think? Ron Paul is a real human being. He is not some 10 thousand year old myth come back from the grave. He is an American who wants to return our Constitutional Rights that have been eroded to a nub by the corrupt bastards in DC.

Nod or no FN nod, what does it matter? We need to get passed that crap for sure and fast. If we all vote for real freedom the nod means nothing. Oh except for those who are fooled by the tricks and fooled into thinking you have to vote for whom they tell you to like always. We need to get that out of our heads. I for one will never vote for the ones they put up front. Might be better off if we just do the reverse of whatever the government says.

"Assassination fantasies are pointless" Oh right like we don't assassinate. You might want to research that, I believe it was last year they said they can assassinate americans citizens too. Even MSNBC covered this.

I must agree with you on the not knowing who he is issue, But I take the time with friends and strangers to help enlighten them. I don't try to overwhelm them like a bible thumper. Just some facts that hit home. I hand them a small card with links to his history and voting record. Its simple and works great. They come back to me with excitement and the bright look of knowledge on their faces. It's not a spiritual enlightenment, just knowledge. I love my kids, so I will do what I have to in order to make our country great again. My children and theirs will not be the slave TPTB want them and us to be.

You might want to repeat the question or rephrase it to your friends when you get the eye roll.

If someone gave the eye roll to me when I asked them a question, I would have to think they are mentally handicapped, or just stupid. A great many Americans only get MSM information.
I have been told many times not to waste my time with ignorant people. But I don't think it is nice to stand by and let someone believe a blatant lie. That would be rude.

I guess your "Insulation Syndrome" might be somewhat on, but that goes for any topic. Be it UFOs big foot, or religion.
There is some comfort in discussing issues with like minded persons. That might be to reinforce the understanding that you are not alone. Your, "Most of your time" part might be a tad inflated. Understanding that we work, some more than one job, I have three. And then there is sleep and other "real world" things we humans must do. So lets say most people might, on a weekend or maybe an hour or less a day to come online to see whats up and comment on stuff. I for one spend most of my time working for me and mine to survive, along with giving the government something to steal. You know, I assume you work.

I know the MSM wants us to believe there are just a few punks out there bloating all the polls to make it look like Ron is favored, but I know that is not true. I hate to brake it to some people but the internet society is part of the real world more so then lets say the MSM or TV shows are.

Since you are so sure that Ron Paul will lose, then you have to know if he does, we all do. There is nothing more productive than our freedoms. Ron Paul is not just a bird he is an Eagle and I hope he swoops in and rips the throats out of the rats that infest our country.

These analogies are fun when they are positive.

Thanks for your psychological diagnoses opinion of Ron Paul and those of us that support freedom and liberty for America and our families.

Good luck antonia, you vote for whomever you think will help America be the best it can be. At least you are voting with best intensions. Who are you for in 2012

Because most Paul supporters are that fanatical. They treat this guy like he is the one and only guy that can solve any of our problems. It's a common problem for human beings. They cling to one person and clamor to be led. I just find it kind of funny most ATS'ers call non-supporters sheep when they are in fact sheep, of a different flock, but still sheep.

Yes people are assassinated, no Paul will not be. It's bull, Paul will never get enough support to warrant that kind of action so therefore it is a fantasy. The average public isn't listening to Paul.

I have been fighting for Disability for the past 5 years. The day I get it will be the best miracle of my life. For those like me who can't work and NEED Disability, what would happen to us?

Ron Paul never said he was going to do away with social security, medicaid or medicare. He said he wanted to give younger people the opportunity to opt out and to keep the money that is currently being paid out to federal income taxes. Even THAT would have to be approved by congress. If nothing else, Ron Paul is a staunch follower of the constitution who DOESN'T believe in ramming executive orders down people's throats (unlike some politicians I could name) except under dire circumstances such as the defense of our country.

Ron Paul has been clear that there is MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY being spent now fighting WARS and policing the world and funding unnecessary "recently created" & bloated federal departments to PAY ENTITLEMENT obligations. Ron Paul CAN and WILL use his executive power to end the wars immediately SO THAT there is MONEY to FUND obligations to the elderly, disabled and needy. Yes, he will work toward giving young people "coming up" the OPTION of opting out instead of entrusting their money to a federal power to "hold in trust" (gag over the word trust). But despite any libertarian ideals, Ron Paul is the ONE person who would follow our constitution to the letter and the CONGRESS (elected by you) would have to approve any changes, additions or deletions to any entitlements in place.

Ron Paul's election is how actually having MONEY to fund social security and other current entitlement obligations can be assured.

Sounds to me like you have a desire for bigger government, more loss of freedoms, jobs, value of your dollar, ETC and though you may be right that....

How in the hell does stating the reality that Ron Paul would never win correlate to a desire for bigger government? You guys hero worship the man and that isn't my fault. You have hung every hope on him. I'm sorry, you are going to get let down. Santa isn't real, the Easter bunny doesn't exist and there is no tooth fairy while I am at it. Hey, if this fantasy makes you happy go for it though. You guys need to move on to more productive uses of your time besides cheerleading a man who will never win. Might I suggest finding the next savior who will single-handedly save the world?

I think, if I may inject, and I am sure nosacrificenofreedom will reply for his/her self but, I think the correlation is, if you are not supporting the only guy running who is for freedom and liberty and small nonintrusive government, then ipso facto you must be for tyranny and the huge government control grid that the others support. Now this might seem like a stretch to someone, and I am guessing, who does not know or care about all the laws that have stripped our freedoms away. This seems to be the real reality.

Now, in your perception, you might be able to equate your fairytales like santa, easter bunny and the like with freedom and liberty. But on freedom lovers side of the looking glass, the right to do and live as we see fit, as long as we don't infringe on others freedoms, is freedom. It's really simple.

I for one will never be dissuade from fighting for freedom for me and mine by childish ridicule.

It is refreshing, I must say, to hear someone group in worship, ergo, religion with tooth fairies and santa.

I notice your use of savior and the other religious references are almost a constant. Is it that you think that we are paying more attention to this guy, Dr. Ron Paul then we are to your savior, what's his name, and you find it disrespectful to your beliefs. I am not saying it is so, just reminiscent of others that have done the same.

There is nothing more productive then retaining freedom.
Please don't feel attacked by me.

I am agnostic, i use the terminology because that is how people on ATS treat this guy. He's the "ONE", the "ONLY GUY". I find it silly a whole group of people who scream about sheep and individuality are nothing more than a flock for a different person.

If you want change you'd do better than rooting for a guy who can't beat a rigged system.

I will do the same.

It worked for Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. But, even if it doesn't work, I do not see Romney or Perry as an improvement over what we already have. They might even be worse.

I think Perry is even more corrupt and in bed with his political donors than Obama was with Solyndra and his glee over executing people makes him the last person on earth I would want to have with hands near the switch/button. Getting Obama out of office isn't a good thing if we are going to replace him with someone that you know going in will be just as bad or that is even criminal. (Yes, I think what Rick Perry did to cover up the forensic investigation of the death of the Willingham children was criminal. I'm not taking a stand for or against the death penalty here or even whether or not Willingham was innocent. Just that I think Perry's actions to squash the subsequent forensic investigation were criminal.)

As for Romney, I am not impressed with what he did with Massachusetts or with his relationship with the heavy donor contributions from Goldman Sachs, Stanley Morgan and all of the banking boys.

I could not and will not be part of Obama, Romney and (especially not) Perry being elected. At least my write-in will be voicing my disapproval.

Of course you won't hear Ron Paul mentioned (or if he is, it's to ridicule him as an illegitimate candidate) in the real world, ie the mass media, which include the vast majority of citizen dolts in the United States who lap up the bull propaganda bull #. Ron Paul wants to take it all down!

I see so many people bash on RP because he isn't going to save anything, that the system is too corrupt, this movement will get nowhere but NOBODY EVER provides a solution. Everybody is constantly bashing, constantly trolling, never one better solution than the one RP supporters are pursuing.
