It sure doesn't seem like a comet to me!
3 days of darkness seems more possible now?

3 days of darkness, really?

The moon is how big in our sky? When THAT passes in front of the sun, how long is it dark for? 3 minutes maybe?

Now imagine 3 days of that. Can your mind conceive of the size of an object that can do that to us?

Do you think it would be "somewhat" visible to the naked eye now?

Please stop scaring yourselves. Elenin is not going to get us. It is not going to block out the sun for three days. You'll be OK. Also, if you really believe it's going to wipe out the planet why in the HELL are you wasting your last days posting silly videos on a conspiracy site? If I thought it was gonna get us I'd be selling off assets and screwing my way through every country.

Wouldn't they all just have to line up perfectly and somehow get syncronized to have 3 days of darkness?

I think the typical fall Minnesota weather is more likely to give me 3 days of darkness rather than a comet.

Easy man, geez. Don't mock what you don't understand. I got it, do a little research on the 3 days of darkness and with God nothing is impossible, Ok? The 3 days of darkness is from a Mirian Apparition given to several people at different times in different years.

Again, research man. Major online news sites had articles on this at the beginning of the year and a couple since then.

It's possible, probable and something you don't understand.

So please before you go off with insults, at least do NO MORE THAN 30 SECONDS of research on Google and you'll find all you need to know on the 3 days of darkness.

I've always thought three days of darkness was possible. You see it was light that had to be created to separate the day from the night. Take away the creation of light and all you have, is the nothing that is darkness.

An object big enough to block the sun for 3 days would destroy the solar system and trust me you would see it coming as it took over half our sky.

not that I believe it, but if a planet sized body was at that distance travelling with us, 3 days would seem possible.

If it does happen i hope its monday tuesday and wedensday. It would make for a wonderfully long weekend

isnt elenin only like 4km wide? i didnt know that blocks out the sun when the moon can not. and if that video sais otherwise then great.. you just started the first of 5000 other BIG ROCK DOOMSDAY posts

If elenin is that small it would have to be darned close to block out the sun.

Poor? I beg to differ.

The moon is 2,159 miles in diameter. (And it travels with us)
A solar eclipse can last as long as 8 minutes at it's fullest potential.
The moon is fairly large to our perspective at just that diameter across.
Elenin at best was what, 80,000 km (49709miles) across is diameter for it's dust cloud?
That's 23.02 times the diameter of the moon.
23.02 X 8 = 184 minutes, or 3.06 hours.
Elenin's gas cloud is see through, at worst, so I think the sun would penetrate it's layers of dust.

So Elenin worst case scenario, if it's corona was like a dark thick black thunder storm cloud, would give us the movie Avatar's worth of darkness.

Oh yeah, that's not even calculating for Elenin's 0.24 AU distance away from Earth at it's closest approach compared to how close the moon is. That would shorten it's length of darkness greatly.

Were you alive in 1997 for Hale Bop? Do you remember how devastating and eerie that looked to us in the night sky? I was scared back then I must admit, I could see that bastard without my glasses even.

This Elenin is practically invisible to us, and Hale Bop was further away at 1.3 AU at it's closest approach to Earth. Do the basic math and see the difference and the fear mongering.
