Ever wondered what would happen if we had a big enough quake here?

I just saw this quake and then i began to wonder what would happen to us here at the west coast.

The first thing that came to mind is if it was big enough wont it cause a tsunami?

The west coast has had quakes bigger than
a 5.6. Research California or West coast
earthquakes.

I have a site bookmarked that might be interesting to look at for this. USGS Shakemaps is the place where they publish the maps showing damage and physical reports distance. They also have a second section for each area called 'scenarios' where it showed estimated for a surprisingly large number of what-if quakes, including some really wild ones for size or location. It kept me busy for quite awhile the first time I went through the stuff they put together there.
