I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this but Playboy is embracing 3D. The advancement in 3D graphics has allowed for modellers to create realistic-looking models. Playboy is exploiting this and using various models planned for games in their October issue. Essentially, they're taking 3D characters...stripping them...and slapping them on a magazine.

Sorry if this post is crossing the borders, delete it if neccessary. Kids shouldn't be clicking anyway since "Playboy" was in the title.

Meh, it'll be a passing fad. Any decent 3d artist can recreate any of those video game characters, and they do in lots of cases. Remember "Nude Raider?" That stuff is available all over the web.

While those are all clearly CG, total realism can be and has been acheived soley using a computer. One day when animation becomes easier I can see problems developing with 3d porn - essentially there are no limits and any kind of scene the artist wants to make can be realized. Would that lead to paedophilia? Technically, it might not be illegal in a lot of places because there are no real people involved. Snuff films, violent porn, basically anything can be simulated. Is that good because real people won't come under harm to cater to that black market, or is it bad because that would allow such a thing to become commonplace?

I though that the regular videos my son play look kind of skimpy as it is, and now this type of graphics, but for what? For porno games?

What happened with virtual reality sex, did it die?

I am obviously confused here.

If you're worried about your son, ESRB provides a ratings for the majority of the games out there. They'll give a rating (Everyone, Teen, Mature, Adults Only, etc.) depending on the content of the game. They also give a brief list of why they gave the rating they did.

You can check out the ESRB website at www.esrb.com
