here it´s actually 9.13 pm an we´re waiting with the telescope for uars on sky (or in the backyard ) lol
i´ve downloaded orbitron and have opened google sat track... and both show different positions for uars.
google´s position is now middle-east-coast africa, moving north
orbitrons position is east of australia, moving south-east
?????
can you tell me where the satellite is right now???

I'd like to know if I have it set up right too, this is where it is showing on mine, as of a few mins ago anyway:

east of australia, moving to south african coast

Re-entry is expected late Friday, Sept. 23, or early Saturday, Sept. 24, Eastern Daylight Time. Solar activity is no longer the major factor in the satellite’s rate of descent. The satellite’s orientation or configuration apparently has changed, and that is now slowing its descent. There is a low probability any debris that survives re-entry will land in the United States, but the possibility cannot be discounted because of this changing rate of descent. It is still too early to predict the time and location of re-entry with any certainty, but predictions will become more refined in the next 12 to 18 hours

On saturday 24th,at 01.10 gmt,UARS will be passing within 40 miles of my current location!
Got the video cam ready and i am just hoping that the satellite can survive this long!

I got the rabbit foot, my legs and fingers crossed that it lands in my yard.

We might get a USA impact tonight or early this morning. between 10pm-4am eastern time

Keep that cam running, it would be a great video.

As of 10:30 a.m. EDT (1430 GMT) Friday, the UARS satellite was flying in an orbit of about 100 miles by 105 miles (160 kilometers by 170 km), and dropping. NASA launched the UARS satellite in 1991 to study Earth's ozone layer and upper atmosphere. The satellite was decommissioned in 2005.
"Re-entry is expected late Friday, Sept. 23, or early Saturday, Sept. 24, Eastern Daylight Time," NASA officials wrote. "Solar activity is no longer the major factor in the satellite's rate of descent."
But where the UARS spacecraft will fall still remains anyone's guess. NASA orbital debris experts have said the satellite could fall anywhere between the latitudes of Northern Canada and Southern South America, a region of Earth that encompasses much of the planet.

german news don´t tell anything new about uars, just said that it will fall down this night or early morning with an chance of 0,3% of damage... not where ist could land, no time....nothing

that´s why i entered this site ;-)

found a german site..
they say it will appear 23.04, 0.35, 3:35 and 5:07 h MESZ , so in 1 hour again
but it will only be visible when entering atmosphere...glowing
because sun is not lighting it...

so it will pass all 2,5 hours.. and germany is in the game, too ;-)

i will send you a photo from the large trash in my backyard tomorrow *rofl*
