British forces today found evidence of extreme cruelty and attrocities, with documentation of thousands of Iraqis murdered.

In my opinion this is just as bad as discovering WMD's. What could these people have done to deserve such torture and inhumane deaths. They said that each person had a file with two pictures of them after being executed and that almost all of them had been shot in the head and some were beyond recognizance(sp?). I wonder how many more of these warehouses will be found. I wonder if these files included any other info such as why these people were brought here and tortured and executed. I wouldn't have wanted to be one of the guys that discovered this gruesome place. Maybe if Saddam is caught they could bring him here and hang him by his own meat hooks then shot right in the damn head like these poor people.

I agree that this discovery is irrefutable evidence of Saddam Husseins murderous regime. I wonder how many more bodies have been disposed of and may never be found.

What amazes me is why they would store the bones and bodies in those wooden coffins in that warehouse. Why werent they buried? Was that place used to intimidate other Iraqi citizens into cooperating with the Iraqi regime?

I suspect that as Saddams shadow of fear and intimidation is removed from Iraq that many more reports will come to light about his atrocities against humanity.

Hopefully that will be very soon,
Deep

Actually, the article references the same warehouse as seen on all the major news networks.

That warehouse in fact was not a slaughter house. Those bodies are from previous wars and the corporal on CNN said all the bodies were documented so they could do exchanges with other countries in order to get bodies returned home to their families. (This coming from the corporal who was actually in the warehouse doing the investigation.)

Just another lie folks, one more to add and the lies keep on coming. Seriously, stop believing everything you hear. It's almost all BS designed to control your thoughts and opinions.

I don't think you're correct, Lie Detector. You heard the same thing I heard, and the same thing we all have heard. Where the notion of "slaughterhouse" came from I have no idea as I heard none of the major media refer to it as that. No mind control here, at least not by the media. Just some folks jumping the gun. And I agree with you, we should see the facts presented and resist the urge to assign meaning or morality to them. This isn't the first time we've seen something and called it something other than what it really was because we saw what we wanted to see. Remember the "Chemical weapons facitlity" found several days ago that was a remnant of years ago?

See though Thomas, that's the thing. All the media has to do is plant the seed and let peoples imaginations run out of control. They don't even have to say directly, this is a slaughter house!, We know it for sure. All they have to do is plant the seed of, like. We believe we found the slaughter house and blah blah blah. THEN most people will automatically believe it's a slaughter house. Then the next thing you know, you have people spreading around rumors that they actually believe and don't let others know it could just be BS, they didn't say for a fact.

You understand what I mean? That's how mind control works. It's actually easy to take advantage of people. Most people will believe almost anything. And you don't have to tell people directly. You can achieve the same effect indirectly, just like how most people believe Saddam and Bin Laden go hand in hand as partners. I actually stopped hanging out with one of my friends because his ignorance scared the crap out of me. He is totally controlled and gets angry if you try to tell him other wise. It's like people can't handle the truth or something.

I never heard any mention of the term "slaughterhouse" or anything else that would leads one to think anything was there but body storage. The last I heard was that it was believed that the bodies were both Iraqi and Iranian bodies from the Iran/Iraq war.

AS far as misunderstanding you, it is quite possible as I'm forcing myself to stay awake all night in preperation for a month of night shifts starting tomorrow. I might have to pop on down to the nearby station for some StackerII or something. Don't think I can do anymore coffee!!

By all accounts, it is almost certainly a "corpse repatriation facility" (what a world!): Muslims are big believers in this "bodily resurrection" thing and like to bury their dead in as near to one piece as possible (hence the charming custom in , say, Pakistan where, if they chop of your hand for repeated thefts, they give it back to you so you can be buried with it! ( this is, or at least was until recently, the truth, cyber-chums).
These are dead Iranians from the Iraq-Iran war and they were either just left there (it's been a long time) or were being held with a future swap in mind.

This reeks of some covert CIA operation to justify this war in the public's eye. Those bodies are likely leftovers from the Gulf War. For crying out loud those things are skeletons. These "embedded journalists" are disinformation experts. Don't believe a word of it.

I also believe they are intentionally misrepresenting the number of American deaths.

Are the opposing and objective perceptions and opinions of other members. Having read the comments above I can see the possibility of the argument that the bodies are dead Iranian soldiers, and that would support why documents and photos of the dead soldiers were there.

Because I'm open minded I like to hear all arguments about any given subject.

I agree that the media is a very powerful tool at shaping the collective beliefs of the masses, thereby manipulating them.

I hope that this warehouse is nothing more than a storage facility for Iranian soldiers. But I also believe that Saddam's regime has used torture and murder to intimidate and control the Iraqi people.

Hopefully, somewhere in all this information the truth will be revealed in time.
