The photo could be pre-planned, which could explain the lack of passion between them, or it could be they had one whopping argument the night before. They say a picture is worth 1000 words. You could read all sorts of stuff into this, but only they know what is really going on.

That's because the photo was snapped before the embrace finished.

Yes, it looks odd. But they didn't pose like that for half a minute so the Official Photo could be taken. The photographer used this one because it was the only shot where the jewelry in question showed clearly.

it's clearly a case of him not being to get any closer for...um....physical reasons lets say
