Apparently the Pentagon has relayed a threat to the Pakistani government that US troops are ready to go into Pakistan if they do not get ISI under
Pakistan's response; " You will lose an ally."
The truth is Pakistan isn't an ally. Their words are hollow.
ATS likes to fantasize about WW3 involving Iran, Israel and usually Russia helping Iran, but if you want a realistic tinder box for a massive regional
war, with nukes and millions dead, instead look at Pakistan.
If the US goes into Pakistan and they respond with hostility, its likely India will join in. Heck Iran even has a beef with Pakistani militants and
would probably take advantage of such a conflict.
Such a conflict would potentially dwarf the 1st Gulf War, Vietnam or Korea. We are talking a darn big war, one where nukes have a good chance of being
used and the NATO charter gets invoked again.
It wouldn't be WW3, but it would feel like it to many, especially if included in the greater War on Terror and NATO intervention in the Arab Spring.
