The exact same thing happened to me last night. I got an e-mail that said

"Someone (maybe you) with an IP address of: **********
has requested that an AboveTopSecret.com account name
associated with this email account be sent.

The recovered username is: "Lorienth"
You can now go to this URL and request a new password:"

But it was dated September 5th. I do recall requesting a password change sometime, possibly around that date and not receiving an e-mail back. The only thing that I can think of is that there was some problem on ATS's side that caused the e-mail to come a few weeks late.

The one strange thing about it is that when I do an IP trace it shows up as from Reno, Nevada... And I live in Washington state.

The email server used for sending out password requests had what can only be described as a blockage. After rebooting the server, a large number of unsent messages in the queue went out all at once.
