YESTERDAY was the end of REM's world as they know it - but just like their hit single, they feel fine... After 31 years of making music, the rock giants have decided to split up.

REM: The band that defined, then eclipsed college rock

The end of an era, the end of REM.

What's the conspiracy you may well ask? Well...

Strange noises, freaky weather, strange comets. The hour approacheth!

Is someone trying to send us a message?

R.I.P R.E.M!

Edit: But don't worry, it's just the end of the world AS WE KNOW IT!

I know! I can't believe it, End of the world is the only song of theirs I like. I mostly wait for bands to break up to or a member dies before I listen to them. Like for Amy Winehouse, once she died I started listening. Call it the After death appeal

Well not morbid, I know a lot of people that wait until the artist dies to listen to their music. It's weird, it just makes it better somehow. Other than that, I prefer little indie bands like Flyleaf/Meg and Dia.

It's a given, seeing as their heart is black!

REM will always be on of my favorite bands.
Oddly enough, the cover band I;m playing is just learned to play this song as well as 4 other songs by them.
With all the things going on right now this is very ironic.
Turn up the volume before the SHTF and my neighbors will hear this song blasting out of my pa system.

Tis a sad day...

RIP REM! One of my fav's...

"Everybody Hurts" was the first song I learnt to play on the guitar - I think I will go and play it and sing along wistfully whilst putting on a sad face...
