Mark Thatcher still remains under house arrest in South Africa,The son of former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, was arrested in connection with an alleged coup attempt in Equatorial Guinea this morning. but later released on bail after paying 165,000 and also haveing been told to hand over his passport .

The 51-year-old father-of-two was arrested at his home in an exclusive suburb of Cape Town.

A spokesman for South Africa's National Prosecuting Authority said he had been arrested on suspicion of providing funding and logistical assistance.

Speaking outside the court, Sir Mark's lawyer, Peter Hodes, said he had been held on suspicion of providing financing for a helicopter linked to the coup plot and intended to plead not guilty.

He's know to be an adventureer but is also known to have had to be rescued. It could be that he is just there for the money its seems far fetched he could be involved in a coup. Unless of course he's James Bond II!!
