Thomas Jefferson said that every generation needs a revolution. There needs to be points in time where children take the reigns of society from our parents. "Recreating the 60's" has nothing to do with it. The baby boomers never fully acted on their revolution, and that tension is continuing to build. We still have a world run by the super rich, and a lot of people aren't cool with that. We forget that the "tension" was paid off in the 80's by Reaganomics; that's why John Lennon was fortunately shot by Chapman a month after Reagan was elected. Could you imagine what would've happened if Lennon hadn't been murdered and continued on his crusade against the ruling elite? We would've had SOME kind of revolution and things would be much different and probably better now. So, it's not "upper middle class kids recreating the 60's" it's the continuation of a revolution we so desperately need.

Almost everyday I walk through the black communities in my town like they were my playground. Nobody tells me I'm evil because of the color of my skin.

john lennon's world was tiny. it only had room for atheists.
most of the people in the usa, don't resemble that ideal but the marxists have managed to raise a generation of
kids to agree by brainwashing them thru music, schools, movies and books, into believing that their parents are a bunch of idiots that believe in dumb things. same thing happened in the soviet union, china, etc. did them alot of good doncha think? in addition to being some of the worst human rights disasters in human history, if not the worst, they never did manage to improve the lives of anyone.

that's good to know. i was getting worried. ats can do that to ya. that and youtube. i'd be surfing along looking for hillary speeches or trying to find something from one of the other candidates and come across stuff that just took me back a few steps. i'd watch it, then watch it again, and then think...and it was typically some black guy who wanted white people killed for any number of reasons. i would be like.....is he living in the same country as the rest of us? every black person i know, is just like me, another person.

i didn't start getting weirded out by all this, till i noticed it was a trend, everywhere.

sure i'll answer that. privileged life? you mean the one where i dug thru garbage cans to find enough aluminum to recycle so i could feed my small family? you mean i should feel bad that i have air conditioning? and really, why don't you go yell at the sick people in hospitals? maybe you could convince them they are privilege to have a bed to sleep on in the hospital and they should be glad it isn't dirt, like the people in ethiopia, who they sent money to when they could work, but which mysteriously never got to the people because the local drug lords stole all the stuff. of course, that's those hospital ridden poeple's fault as well because the CIA is involved in international drug deals, and so well, they just paid money to finance CIA drug deals not to help ethiopians, etc etc, ad nauseum, etc.

reminds me of the huge disaster ongoing in somalia. the UN workers refuse to go there to help until somalian government could guarantee their safety, because ya know, they go there, are killed, and all the stuff they brought, stolen, and then used as black mail weapons against the somalians. that's my fault too, cause i'm privileged.

If you are a Hillary supporter, then you are a socialist.

You seriously need to get laid. You have a lot of pent up frustration and estrogen running a muck.
Done.

nope not a hillary supporter, but i was interested in seeing how a woman could run the country but alas, that only happens in royal families overseas and then only as a figure head. it's okay though, i am slowly but surely acclimating to the fact that being a white christian female is the equivalent of being "trailer trash"...whatever that means. apparently one of those progressive terms to disparage the poor whites, who apparently are the only dumb poor people on the planet. most other poor people are quite intelligent. i know, i am sorry for smudging up your planet.

well 52 years of being called an idiot and trailer trash and a dumb redneck hick, even though i was born and raised in one of the most democratic states in the country (michigan, detroit), and voted democratic and managed to get on the dean's list and president's list in college before i could no longer go due to my mom's health and my own health, etc, it does wear on a person. being blamed for crap i didn't do, being expected to think violent revolution will be good especially since we all know that the first thing that'll happen is racial genocide of outrageous proportions. can you see it spilling over into white neighborhoods. most of them don't even own hunting guns or know how to defend themselves. lambs to the slaughter.

The only people I know who use the term "trailer trash" are white people. A lot of them are Christian females. Oddly a lot of them live in, or used to live in, mobile homes. Go figure...

Thanks for your contribution to society I now see that arguing aimlessly is starting to change the world. Who need action when we can talk about white trash, yelling at bed ridden people, and dumpster diving for aluminum? I know you didn’t say it but you forgot to add. Cutting copper from peoples air conditioners while they sleep at night. Please never implement your ideology into action, it will just lead to you shape shifting into a literal butt hole. And you will starve to death because you will have no mouth and more, just an orifice with crap flying out of it.

funny, i saw it on CNN after bush got re-elected for his second term. they had a big map of the usa on the screen, with the words JESUSLAND printed across the middle. then they proceeded to explain that people who lived in blue states or blue cities, were the best educated, and not just best educated but also HIGHEST IQ. whereas the people in jesusland (the red states) were mostly uneducated, trailer trash, with lower IQs. i kid you not. national news program, describing why jesusland didn't vote for gore.

it's the fault of white christians who are all idiots and trailer trash. that's what they said. of course, everyone on ATS claims we get for president, whoever the bankers want. so who really voted in bush, the white christians that supposedly voted him in, or the bankers who got him in, or perhaps the jesusland people dropped their morals temporarily to hack the voting machines, even though they are too stupid to do anything else.

got me started. this is the result of 50 years of hearing this kind of crap. the most blatant racist bigotted prejudiced crap you can imagine. i'm tired of it.

i like ron paul's ideas for revolution -- change the laws. not kill the people. kill the people is not an option. or shouldn't be, anyway.

Why arguing with cops? What's the deal with asking questions on ethics to violent goons with low IQs?

They behave violently like that because they are not scared of protesters like this, because they assumed they won't defend themselves if attacked. Why is it so hard to understand???

It would appear the police were rather patient with these protesters, all things considered. At some point they're going to have to go in there and say - "Ok, that's enough.".

Edit: I've seen much worse than that, its nothing really.

I wish there was more news coverage on the Wall Street protest story. The livestream video has been erratic all day, ever since the police reportedly arrested one of the protesters' camera operators yesterday.

If this was a Tea Party event, I'd be willing to bet there would be mainstream news cameras all over the place. But for this event, we have had practically no mainstream news coverage at all. Why is that, I wonder?

One might almost think that our highly regarded fourth estate independent free press wasn't really all that independent or free anymore, after all.

Sort of like the whole First Amendment to the Constitution no longer guarantees the right to peaceably assemble or petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Meanwhile President Obama is right there in Manhattan, enjoying the company of other heads of state at the UN.
