Depending on whom is in on this, it has the potential to cause some real damage. I am sure the NYSE.com, will have some ability to defend itself from denial of service attacks. But if other members choice to hit the financial infrastructure, they could cause some real damage...

Im not sure how much kick anon have at the moment , they have had some key members arrested. If they take down the infrastructure they will a real wake up call....

Well I hope their online approach is more successful than their 'Rage on Wall Street' nonsense. These pictures of the weekend event look like a police rally, not a protest. (See the line of parked Police motorcycles for one example) If this is what they call 'shutting down Wall Street' then there is little hope of "people power" changing much in the foreseeable future. Here is "rage" and "protest" American style. Ugh..

I have more hope for Anonymous in accomplishing something that at least mildly annoys TPTB, not simply bring them amusement over their morning coffee.

This should be good.

Well if they do it ona a Saturday like some other IDIOTS it'll fail but they seem to be just a bit smarter so they might try it when the place is actually OPEN for business

What is interesting here is in the time frame that these event are occurring. It is very interesting indeed to see this right on the verge of everything happening right now in the world, or should I say, the solar system, in the milky way.

just as the common folks are punished for their 'sins' with expensive tickets, summons and court fines for their perceived infractions, it makes sense to target the privileged where they too will feel it most - in their wallets.

but the reality factor seems pretty slim in such a David v Goliath undertaking. if the Wall Street playground could be penetrated it would seem the Euro criminal hacker element would have already done so. the Exchanges around the globe are mighty money pumping machines. their wealth is their power and it affords them the finest systems and security available.

to break through the walls of a financial empire like the NYSE i think one would need a concentrated force of epic proportions, backed by the kind of huge funding that would secure the loyalty of many key inside players as well as computer power beyond most imaginations.

maybe one day we'll see a Hollywood blockbuster on the silver screen depicting this kind of action but i doubt we will see this happen in our life time.

Whilst it would be monumental, imagine the ramifications from it and the thorough, brutal manhunt for those responsible.

They would be labelled as terrorists and enemies of America and would be blown right out of proportion. I can almost cue the presidents speech in my head "Fellow Americans, this is a sad day for America..a new breed of terrorists has struck at the very heart and life line of this great nation. Last night, we were savagely attacked by our terrorist enemy hackers via the stock market...."

why not leave 'em alone, and let them self destruct?

you could eat pop corn and drink wine, beer, and watch the show on tv.

those sky scappers would make great public housing.
as is, they are corporate white elephants.

you could fit a mexican village, chickens included in the mansions these bankers live in.

and their golf courses would grow tomatoes and corn.

Well we can all hope for a better world....but hoping hasn't really got us anywhere so far, has it ?
How many years have people been hoping for a better world ? I would imagine a helluva lot more than a few, and that hasn't changed anything....
mb with the operations that Anon (and no doubt other groups) have set in motion people will sit up and listen....if people the world over really opened their eyes to see the world for what it has truly become, then mb, just mb we can do something a bit more constructive and life changing than hoping....

The time has come for the people to be the change.... United as one.
