A former dictator's cocktail preferences and a facetious plot against Santa Claus were classified by the government to prevent public disclosure. Also stamped secret for six years was a study that concluded the 40% of Army chemical warfare masks leaked. These and other ludicrous and lethal examples were cited Tuesday by congress and witnesses at a hearing looking into the conclusion that secrecy is undermining efforts to thwart terrorists.

According to the article the administration believes the less know the better.

If all these crazy things are classified, I wonder what important stuff is and never gets to the people that needs to see the information,I read in another article that almost 4000 people have the right to stamp information "Top secret" how much never gets to the eyes of the people who need to know?
