How will we signify ATS members in a post-"event" world?

I did a search for this and didn't find anything relevant. I was wondering, with all the talk of power grids going down, and countries going to war and whatnot, how will ATS members let other ATS'rs know about them in a post-whatever-event world?

Let's assume there is no power, so we can't get online... a secret handshake?
or something like they used in WW2 = Flash/Thunder response style?
or perhaps the motto, deny ignorance.

maybe ATS could make T-shirts

perhaps just a "hey remeber the internet, did you post on ats at all?"

Is that just a bit too easy?

Facial tattoos.

Seriously?

I think we'll be more concerned with eating than chatting. Those that live nearby to each other could probably recognise each other by the fact that they'd both be breathing.

In the event of a world disaster, I won't be worrying about the internet or ATS users. I'll be too busy trying to gather up as many females as possible to secure my lineage.

A couple things...

1. ATS is a pre-apocalyptic prep site (I think I made that up?). When it breaks, we'll have a leg up in that we'll know the whys and hows and hopefully a heads-up on the when.

2. When the lights go out, those purposes will have run their road.

3. Most of the folks here can pack sand now. Don't come anywhere near me after.

4. I've got a post-team. No offense.

So I see no reason to advertise that I was an ATS member and if I hear someone else say they were they'll come under more scrutiny, not less.

If the internet goes down, and TSHTF, please report to your local FEMA camp where you will be promptly identified based on a multitude of lists, biometrics, fitness and competency for advanced slave labor.

See you there!

An invitation from you DaddyBare, would be the rare exception for me.

Love it, but sadly the world has become much more complicated. The plethora of shills and the fact that no-one online is really who they portray themselves as renders your idea, (and nice research btw) more of a liability than an asset. I have actually wondered about this question myself and came to the conclusion that even if you agree with a fellow ATS member and respect their philosophy, when TSHTF it will be every man/family for themselves and you will not be able to trust anybody when it comes to survival.
WWII was an ideological war but what the human race is facing is the destruction of the species and the rearrangement of society itself.
I doubt that we will get the chance to display a hidden symbol in the event. it would be more appropriate to shout (loudly)
"ATS - HOLD YOUR FIRE"
and then they will mishear you and assume ATF.
And shoot.
Sad but true.
Thanks for the Dutch history lesson though, its always good to learn.

I think you just summed up ATS in a single post.
'pre-apocalyptic prep site' - perfect.

If you wandered up to my camp, and said, hey, I was an ATS member, the first thing I'd do would be ask your username. That'd be credential enough.

Of course, mention the wrong username, and I'd shoot you on site.

Get my point?

Isn't it prophesied that after a time we will all walk around with a mark on our forehead that only ATS members can see? Or what that something else?

I like Daddybare's safety pin idea, but we should have something attached to it, and it should be worn where it can been seen during times that you don't feel your association with ATS would put you in harms way.

We should all carry confederate flags.

That would be a great way to let each other know, we are in on the heritage.

Plus they make great table cloths, and capes, and you can use them to dry off, and to roll up and use as a pillow.

It's just so versatile.
