I couldn't believe my eyes just now, and it is my fault for having the idiot box on, but I do like me some futurama..

But there was an advert, for little girls dolls. And a disclaimer;

REALLY? Do people NEED to be told these things? Have people actually complained that the dolls did not do the things they see in the advert?

It really makes me despair to know that there are people, sufficient in number, so lost in this world that they need disclaimers like this....

I know it's not the first time something like this has been needed... I remember the advert for the Hungry Jacks Bourbon burger - Does not contain Bourbon.

Oh... Good to know, I need to bring my own... Shish....

Rant? I dunno where to put things.. Maybe I need a disclaimer.. lol

what a world...

it's not cause people are dumb, it's cause people are devious.

devious people will complain for a reason, maybe even to cause a fuss.

Sad but true, reminds me of the lady who sued Macdonalds for serving coffee too hot.

But I also recall hearing about people who have tried to sue vehicle manufacturers because the cruise control crashed the car as they were not watching the road...

My favorite are the hairdryer tags that are gigantic that discourage people from putting the dryer near water.

Can't have that, it's all about image and glamour...

That's why those child pageants are so popular... the dolls walk talk and blink there.

How do people survive.. haha, so many rainbow ladies out there..

I mean, you can't get too far in life if you don't know that electricity can kill you.

Then again, I used to know a guy who worked in a fish and chip shop, and he was not the brightest... he tried to clean the shop by hosing it down... and shorted out the electrics as he didn't understand that water and electrical items dont mix.

Damn the more I think about it, the more depressed I get haha..

companies have to play CYA to avoid frivolous lawsuits.

i read about a college student that successfully sued a bicycle manufacturer after he was hit by an automobile while riding his bike in the dark without a headlight. the case was won based on there not being a warning label on the bike to use a headlight when riding in the dark.

how sad is that? a college student. his parents must be so proud, here he is going to college and he can't even count to potato.

Unfortunately yes people are that dumb, they're also that much of @$$holes that they would screw over anyone to make a buck so we need dumb stuff everywhere to keep these animals in line. Why can't we all just get along and stop being stupid?

Here's the sad thing - instead of making dolls that really do walk, talk and blink, they make dolls that crap their pants and need a diaper change. Yay, for realism!

How do you come to that decision?

"We should make this doll walk and talk."

"Screw that! Let's make it crap its pants."

"Brilliant!"

im sure the decision to make a deficating doll would of had a lot of research behind it
must appeal to the motherely instinct..

I wish!

I've tried to imagine a world like that.. If you've ever seen Charlie Jade, then the Gamma Verse would be the closes to it. Paradise..

Yet it seems the way this world has been built, from history to now, it has been designed to be as faulty as possible to keep a few corrupt with the upper hand.. They make sure there are stupid people at every level.

The unstoppable force against the immovable object; our desire for that perfect world, unable to be realised against the nature of this one, designed to remain as corrupt as it is.

Warning labels are there to save the idiots of society, and companies. I know the US have a massive problem with every asshole suing every other asshole.

Personally i believe survival of the fittest.

I purchased a mattress once with a tag on it saying "WARNING: DO NOT EAT".

Now you know that tag is only there because someone has tried it before.

Yeah, but they're not advertised as blinking dolls, or walking or talking. The dolls that do those things are advertised as such.

This is directly to prevent people complaining that the dolls didn't do the actions they did in the advert - which was CGI.

But I do understand what you're saying.
