Once again I find myself scouring this subforum for truly terrifying evidence of impending global disaster -- because I am a terrible father and I'm tired of scaring my kids with lies and want something awful and true for a change -- and, once again I find nothing but bollocks and nonsense here. So, in an effort to assist my fellow forumketeers with what will and will not pass for "evidence," and thus what should and should not be posted (imho), I'm going to put the following, simple guide.

1. This is a telescope:

You should all, of course, know this. Unfortunately it is plainly evident that some of you do not know what a telescope looks like. For example, this is NOT a telescope:

See, I am trying to illustrate that there are some methods of discovering "new" information which do not qualify. Finding a YouTube (or other) video online that comes kinda close to some vague notion you're trying to get across does not count as evidence of anything. Staring vacantly into the heavens and making wild guesses about what you see floating around up there is your right, but it does not make anything you dream up worth consideration. It's also possibly dangerous to your health, because as you gaze up there, slack-jawed no doubt, a fly might enter your throat and choke you to death.

If you want to find new stuff in a sky, get a real telescope and become a real astronomer. If you don't do that, your ideas don't count. It's that simple.

As for Elenin and Nibiru, when 2 of the following 3 media outlets say something credible to the effect that Elenin is a threat or that Nibiru exists at all, I will start listening:

www.capjournal.com
www.astronomy.com
www.benthamscience.com/open/toaaj

Without any reputable, reasonable, and most of all experienced and educated people wailing about our collective doom approaching, I have exactly zero reason to worry about it.

Now, seriously, people. Get on the ball and go find something worth my time before you make one more post about this nonsense. Time is running out. Pretty soon my children will learn that zombies, werewolves and the Bogey Man do not exist. Before I start scaring them with Nibiru and Elenin, I need some real proof!

You obviously haven't seen my recent thread. Yes, it is youtube of a guy buying time on a rent-a-scope.

Check my signature.

You cannot see Elenin now. Too close to the Sun BUT you might be able to see it on SOHO in a couple of days.

As for doomsday. I wish Obama read these sites. He'd have known going to Denver on Sept 27 was a bad idea.

Not sure where the thread is going.

Sounds like it should be in 'Rant'.

They are imaginary situations. Elenin was never a threat and the others don't exist, my heart will go on without them. Maybe they're real and maybe they're not. No, i'm not stressing about it and you shouldn't either.

Have fun waiting for the MSM to tell you what is ok for you to believe and what isn't. It's also normal now to die of cancer, because they said it was.

Nibiru and Elenin are just 2 of many tools to scare people into buying fear porn. That doesn't mean NASA is being honest even slightly with us. NASA is nothing more than a people's front for the real space program going on behind our backs.

If people 'in the know' were jumping around 'proclaiming the end of the world is nigh' it would cause mass hysteria, If there is absolutely nothing we can do about our own demise, why cause panic and tell everyone? imagine the rioting and violence that would ensue... so as a collective group, they don't say anything.

Cool Rant Bro.

However.... While you're demanding ATS go find you something worthy of your time a.k.a. "real proof", remember this....

This is not where to find answers

This is where you should go

Yes, Agreed, and I dearly want to know how far they've advanced.

I'd take a decent sized bet that the majority of these books were published by a subsidiary of one of the major corporations, in which the History section has nothing to do with accurate historical facts.

I'd take the advice and wisdom of real life, hard working people who want to share their experiences on ATS with like minded individuals before I'd buy into what the Bill & Melinda Gates or the Rockefeller foundation puts out for us to absorb.

You do realise that all publicity is good publicity?

That is well written. I certainly am not surprised that a youtube video was brought up or that people claim that the majority of books were written by corporations. I'd certainly like to see the faces of the authors when confronted with that weird claim.

Actually you can find many books about conspiracies in libraries...I know, I found some. "Secrets of the Federal Reserve" by Eustace Mullins was one.

I think authors such as Sinclair, Shakespeare, Twain, Frost, Poe, F Scott Fitzgerald, Dickinson, Hemingway, Melville, Thoreau, Alcott, Stephen King, Faulkner, Washington Irving, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and thousands of others would be lumped into the Corporation label.

I am slightly sad. I saw tooth fairy in the title line, and no one has yet mentioned the tooth fairy. Thats what brought me to this thread after all. Could we please start talking about her/him? After all the tooth fairy is the most pressing matter in the world today.....

I'm going to answer your question on what they all have in common.
My answer; they all three are supposed to have wings.
Did I win a cookie?

Even NASA said it does NOT exist! Some solar nerd made it up.
