I'm not necessarily opposed to a lot of what I'm hearing from the interviews I've heard actually (mind you, none of the interviews I've heard have been the "insanely communist" depiction that some have painted). I certainly hope that people aren't labeling the anti-fascist statements with the "socialist" brush of partisan rhetoric; that is so popular these days. All I've been hearing is pretty much true:

"Corporations shouldn't be manipulating legislation to exponentialize their profits"
"Everyone here paid more taxes as individuals than these corporations did with their multi-billion dollar revenues last year"
"Wall Street is an embarrassment to what could have been a real, working capitalism"
"I never imagined fascism could hide so conveniently behind a socialist hologram"
"Obama is more of a fascist corporatist than Bush and it's long past time for America to sit around and talk about it"

They're just doing it wrong. I couldn't possibly see this accomplishing anything. History has certainly taught me that perching and parroting has never got anyone anywhere in the political realm. I wonder if these kids are waiting for their favorite video game character to show up and start lobbing some heads off, hmm?

Those still exist? I doubt they're at this rally. This whole protest is about how sh*t kinda hit the fan during this last term, no? I don't think people would be there if they think the President was doing his job properly.

i wonder if they (the feds) will decide to take action. theres alot of people there, seen a couple wearing anon masks earlier.

It's kind of funny to me - I clicked on the Livestream link and there was a short little commercial for Walmart at the beginning. The "day of rage" - brought to you by Walmart.

I just thought it was ironic/funny.

So, I don't know how "live" livestream is, but all I see is some cops standing around looking bored and what appears to me as typical tourists with cameras hanging around their necks. Some guy with a rainbow coat claiming that they are going to "shut down Wall Street at noon"...I think I must be watching videos from a few hours ago. Is there an actual "live" video?

I think the problem is that America is just that far gone at this point; like a drug-addled crack whore who's just been raped and beaten for the 500th odd time by her pimp. Somewhere, vaguely in her doped out, semi-conscious mind, there will be the thought that maybe she should call the police or otherwise get help, but she's been held down and brutalised for so long at this point, that she can't really remember what the first step toward recovery might look like.

Anonymous are in the same situation. They know that something is desperately wrong, and they need to somehow revive freedom; but because most of them were born after 1990, the poor kids can't appreciate the fact that they really don't have any idea what freedom truly looks like, because they've never really had direct experience of it.

They want something which they can't name, and don't know the real appearance of. They don't realise just how truly and completely f*cked they really are.

Yes, well, unions and government are at least intended to represent people (although that pipe dream went down the toilet).

Corporations were basically a steady lottery; it's supposed to be risky to invest in the stock market, that's what makes it do-able with a 'free market'. It's when corporations get hand-outs and benefits so that they can continue to grow regardless of the repurcussions on the majority of society that we get a huge skew in the distribution of wealth and a massive gap between lower and upper class that goes beyond the definitions of greed. People shouldn't be starving/putting their children up for adoption/becoming homeless/dying -- regardless of what country they're slaving from -- to raise stockholder value for a corporation or increase revenues for central banks that could survive without the support, I don't care how anyone wants to look at it. A decline in exchange value is the fault of the stockholder; they chose to take the risk by investing in the stock market, taxpayers shouldn't be bailing them out for their risks. All of these legal obligations for corporations to constantly increase stockholder value flaws the entire concept of them in general, yet without such legal obligations they can be exploited massively by CEOs and administrative bodies.

The more corporations roll about, the more I see them as just another thing that will be in a history book as one of those "Things that were alright theories, but just don't work in practice".

Anyways, one step at a time.
