This is an appeal to victimhood, and is ultimately pointless. It perpetuates the idea that the population needs to put pressure on politicians, because supposedly it is exclusively said politicians who have any form of sovereignty. As long as Americans want to play that game, they're going to get what they deserve.

A better idea would be to cease continually playing computer games or watching lolcats on YouTube, and start maintaining regular neighbourhood watch programs, where neighbours actually give a crap about each other, and if any one of them is targeted either for unlawful arrest or brutality by police, that police officer will be confronted by the lot of them. The police are terrified of accountability; why do you think they are so desperate to intimidate people who record footage of them? If groups of people peacefully confronted them whenever brutality occurred, and recorded them, you can bet that they would learn to improve their behaviour, very quickly.

Real solutions have to be long term. Rabble rousing in cities on a short term basis accomplishes nothing.

I'm just reporting on this people, I'm currently on a neutral stance concerning this protest. It hasn't started yet, so we don't know whats going to happen yet. I don't believe in taking sides until I think I have all the facts. It appears that NYPD is expecting a little something as they are preparing barricades:

I have infinitely much more respect for the average Egyptian or Tunisian protester than I do an American for the simple reason that they had the balls to fight for what is rightfully theirs, ignoring the BS "You can only protest on Sundays and only if you stay off the footpath, wear pink tutus and dont bother anybody else" rules put in place to prevent protests from gaining traction and popularity in the first place.

The day that I see masses of Americans swarming Washington and getting rid of the corruption 'one way or another' is the day that I'll eat my words.

I can see the shocked bankers looking out their windows as they by some strange reason work on a saturday, "yes, yes....these damned rioters will bring us down. They are throwing yoga classes at us. What should we do, what should we do? yikes!"

Getting my popcorn, expect to see lots of douchebag protesters bloodied up, the riot police will not be pussies like the Brits were and allow sections of the city to burn.

Police scanner just asked for prisoner vans.

From the interviews of the protesters I've watched so far, there seems to be a socialist and/or anarchist attitude from several of them. Reports indicate that several hundred have shown up so far. I've seen police vans in some of the photos as well.

What we dont need is the corporate agenda, and TPTB that lie to us. Aka, the banking cartel..

The power to them, everyone deserves to have a home, and live their lives without the debt that money causes, without the stress that money causes. Without the social issues that it also causes.

Money IS the root of all evil, and needs to be removed.

Yep. Protest might be allowed in any other country on the planet, but it won't be allowed in the good old US of A. Not only will they be locked up, but I won't be surprised if there have been several incidents of police violence by the end of the day, either. Anonymous will eventually learn that while there genuinely are ways of getting what they want, this isn't one of them.
