Nicolas Cage is a Vampire / Photo from 1870 / Tennessee

There have been some rather weird eBay listings in the past, but this one really caught my eye. According to this guy who collects antique memorial photography, he came into possession of a photo of a man who looks remarkably like Nicolas Cage. I wonder if anyone can tell if the image has been shopped. He claims it's all legit; he wants 1 million dollars for it!

Nick Cage. Personally, I believe it's him and that he is some sort of
walking undead / vampire, et cetera, who quickens / reinvents
himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from now, he might
be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk show host.

This is not a trick photo of any kind and has not been manipulated
in Photoshop or any other graphics program. It's an original photo
of a man who lived in Bristol, TN sometime around the Civil War.

I've had a lot of questions asking where I purchased this. As followers
of my website know, I collect antique memorial photography -
images of dead people - from the 1800s. This photo was found in
the very back of album that contained an unusual number of
Civil War era death portraits (which is why I purchased it). All of
the other people in the album, living and dead, were identified
by name - this man was not.

Photographer is Professor G.B. Smith. A contact of mine forwarded
this interesting article (link) about the photographer, Smith. Turns
out he was a confederate Civil War prisoner of war photographer.

Guaranteed to be an original 1860s-70s photograph and not
a modern reproduction, copy or photo manipulation.

4" x 2.5".

Unevenly trimmed on all sides.

Doesn't he know no one cares about Nick Cage? No one, and no one would ever spend 1 million on him, even if stupid people think this is a picture of him and that he is a vampire.

Very, very interesting find, i have often wondered, if beings have been around for generations, thus the reasons nothing hardly-if ever changes on this planet?

That being said, if he's really a vampire I'd find him DOUBLY HOT

But sadly he's losing a lot of hair lately and the age signs are showing so the possibility is low sniff

Edit: After taking a closer look at Cage I noticed his ears aren't as rounded from the top like the guy in the old photo. So its definitely not him.

Well I suspect a lot of the value is probably in the age of the image.

I think there is a little bit more than a "small" similarity between these men.

So, is he wearing a rug in that picture then too? I mean, if he was a vampire, why does he have the worst hair in all his movies? Did he just get bit and converted at a lame time in life.....where you are middle aged, getting fat and balding? Awesome!

BTW Nicolas Cage has a weird twist at the top of the ears this guy doesn't as one instant difference I can see.

Wow, there is a remarkable resemblance to Nicolas Cage in his younger days. Almost all facial features match. Except for the thinner jaw bone, I'd say that is in fact Mr. Cage. Lookalikes are common and most likely the case here.

The most intriguing aspect is the man in the photo is unnamed. This certainly deserves looking into.

What? So a picture from the [late] 19th century is worth a cool million? Since when? Oh right, never. Hell, pictures of actual famous/influential people of that time, and pretty much any time period, would never sell for that, ever.

I think Aggie has really sealed the deal, but that is also a great observation. The look-alike has much more rounded ears.

Although I don't think the photo is really of Cage, the two men definitely look like each other.......
