Hey, now THAT is cool. I look forward to seeing your finished product!

Take it a few steps further:

1) Get like 100 photographers with cameras to create a circle around the subject.
2) Have them synchronize the photo taking
3) Then have a computer use all of that to create a smooth 3D rendering of all the information
4) GIGA3D!!!

Quite brilliant and quite scary that a snapshot can hold sooo much information.
I hardly consider a 15 minute exposure a "snapshot"…

It wasnt a 15 second exposure... get your facts right.

Microsoft PhotoSynth has been doing this for years. The awesomeness of it is the users around the world can submit photos that will help with the Synth. They can be from different days, cameras, whatever, the program stitches them together. Really coool.

Check it out. Its free too.photosynth.net...

These pics are cool but spooky. Make us look as insignificant as ants.

Anyone else spot Bin Laden under the D in Canada Post? Roseanne Barr is hiding behind him.

Edit to add - I found Michael Jackson too (or it's LaToya)

wonder if Elvis is there?

I'm just going by what the original post said...

This picture was taken in only 15 minutes

If he meant seconds, he didn't say that.

Does anyone know what that large picture on the back wall
is of? Looks kind of pinkish with a guy holding a hammer like tool.

The OP, the llink it pointed at, and a post on page 1 of the thread all show clearly it was a 15 minute time period. Not a 15 minute exposure. Over 260 pictures taken aver a 15 minute period.

If you read the thread or the external link you would already know all this.

Yes. I'm fully aware of all of this. Which is why I don't consider it a snapshot unlike Shadow Herder. That's all I'm saying.

it is a little bit complicated to find 100 photographers with the exact equipment ^^ but I have considered it

the next one will be a Gigapixel from an old steam train, maybe I can make it so you can also look a little bit above... have to see when I have time... it will be ready at the end of the year or at the beginning of the next year

that is little bit different ^^ the main difference is the resolution... I'm way above the photosynth possibilities
but of course the photosynth technique is cool... but I like to do it myself

Well, that's essentially how the bullet-time for the Matrix movies worked…

Oh dear!

If you had read the thread (It is explained 3 times) or the writing at the top of the picture you would know how these things come about. Stitching errors.

Call BS all you like, if you don't take the time to read th einformation and understand the technology that will just make you look dumb.
