Have you explored aquaponics? It uses the fish waste to grow plants and the plants clean the water for the fish, without pesticides or chemicals, so in some states, it qualifies for organic. The fruit and veges are tastier than hydroponics, and it takes very little additional water once it gets going properly. Here's some links:

Most of the systems I've seen need electricity of varying types, and there are tons of different systems out there already.

I haven't really doing anything with my pound...
other than when I catch a fish to small to eat I dump them in my pond...

I got a few really big boys in there now... but there was no plan or intent behind my actions...
