Don't panic quite yet folks. El Hierro is not being evacuated. According to the authorities the situation is stable.
www.tenerifenews.com... nds/el-hierro

Really don't know where Mr Deyo gets his info

Can't get the link to work
but if you go to tenerifenews.com and search 'el hierro 8th sept' the info is there.

El Hierro quakes still normal
Thursday, 08 September 2011 13:48
Authorities on El Hierro say there is still absolutely no cause for concern despite the flurry of
small earthquakes on the island. The series of minor tremors, which have already hit the 1,000
mark but measure no more than two on the Richter scale, have caused heated debate among
scientists as to the cause. Now, a group of experts have got
together to fully co-ordinate information to the public and the findings of the research and
readings. The committee will include technicians, scientists and local councillors.
The situation on the island continues to be classified as “normal” although communications with
the public are to be improved if a pre-alert is needed. Residents are said to be regarding the
series of tremors, which started in July, with increasing concern but experts have stressed there
have been similar phenomenon elsewhere in the world and it is not a precursor to an
earthquake.

No reference to evacuations.

And no connection with Cumbre Vieja on La Palma (a completely different volcano on a different island)
