F-16 Fighters Intercept American Airliner – Due To Passengers Terrorist Style Bathroom Break

theintelhub.com

The North American Aerospace Defense Command scrambled two F-16 jets to follow an American Airlines flight until it landed safely at New York’s Kennedy Airport today. The reason? An unnamed passenger used the on-board toilet too many times before getting locked in the bathroom.

Afterwards, officals played down the potty event. One law enforcement official said it wasn’t thought to be terrorism and American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith said, “In our eyes, it’s a big nothing.”

I honestly don't know what to even say about this. It's so outrageous it begs description. It isn't enough that we are molested and frequently robbed by the TSA before even being allowed to board a flight. Now going to the bathroom incites F-16 fighter jet escorts. Twice!

And who among the staff made the determination that these people were potential terrorists?

And who knew American Airlines had fighters jets on speed-dial?

Three passengers were taken off in handcuffs from the Frontier Airline’s flight from Denver as it landed in Detroit, but no charges were filed, the channel reported quoting airport spokesman Scott Winter.

Winter said that the Frontier flight 623 with 116 passengers on board had been put on “flight alert” after the crew complaint that three passengers had spent extra-ordinary long time in the bathroom.

Facepalm indeed!

I never thought I'd say this, but Harold and Kumar go to Guantanamo was prophetic. He came out of the airplane bathroom with a bong and they thought it was a bomb. Okay, it's not exactly the same thing, but the movie was touching on the abnormal paranoia of America.

it might not warrent fighter jets ..

but just imagine if they were "terrorists' atleast the fighter jets were ready this time ...

unlike last time when they were *cough* "distracted" *cough* .. i mean busy with war games to know what was real and not ..

and if this passenger was a terrorist then they would've been on the ball .. Im glad though atleast they have measures that scramble the fighter jets so quickly

going to the bathroom more then 4 times in one flight i would be suspicious too ! lol i would call terrorist also hehe ... the terrorism of diaherea

Since 9/11...

Bush blew it ( On purpose or not) and now we go way over board with "security".

Yes, a guy kept getting up and going to the bathroom and eventually got "locked in"....

I can understand how people might see this as suspicious. Not saying that it is. Just saying I can see how people would feel that it is.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say to the passengers and particularly the poor person with the weak constitution on that flight, it was anything but "a big nothing". THAT attitude is why American and the other Airlines have struggled just to stay above water since 9/11. The fact they were almost ALL on the verge of financial collapse just BEFORE 9/11 is something they seem to forget...but he just summed up the heart of their problems since. To their paying customers, the over-the-top security is a VERY BIG something.

Next thing you know, they'll require all passengers to go to the bathroom before getting on the airline.

FAA contacts the military in the event of a hijacking situation. This is a little overboard, but with all the crap we're being fed lately (RC airplane bombs, bombs surgically implanted inside people, underwear bomber) can you blame them for "playing it safe".

So what exactly was the risk? He already went through screenings, he already went through the body scanner, he already put his bags through an x-ray, he already removed his shoes.

what was the danger? was he in the process of crapping out a gun?

Lets just keep something in mind, the rules now are the same as they were before 911. This guy goes into the bathroom too much and they scramble f16 jets.

4 planes turn off their transponders and go off course, 1 of which slams into the WTC, no fighters scrambled. Actually I'm not even sure if they scrambled jets after the 2nd WTC impact.

Maybe the agent overheard him say that he was "off to drop some bombs" and got scared.

Its a big overreaction and an example of how both the terrorists and government have already won, they both want the public to be scared.

I read somewhere it was because a couple of passengers were playing tag ball in the toilets and got too noisy!

What happen in the American Airline is the best example of what government manipulated propaganda and mind manipulation is dong to weak Americans in this country.

Darn even I go to the bathroom more than often than usual. Specially now that I don't have a darn gallbladder.

The fascist government is winning we the American people are the losers.

So be very afraid because natural body functions are now considered possible terrorist act.

People for now on should scream to the rest of the passengers what their business is going to be in the restrooms, how long is going to take. this just pitiful that we are allowing our corrupted government do this to us, airlines should be boycott.

Certainly is.

I know some people who wanted to go to the U.S. on holiday. Then they heard some horror stories about TSA security in American airports, and decided to go to Spain instead.

It concerns me too. I'm not scared, or worried. I just don't want the indignity of U.S. customs. I don't want to be treated like an animal in a paddock. The paying customer keeps the airlines in business, and should be treated accordingly.

To all you people whining about the fact that they ordered the jets, they took this as a precaution, you need to get a grip. What if they WERE terrorists? You would be that same person whining about why AA or the military didnt do ENOUGH to thwart an attack. You are so worried about taking away your rights, that one of these days it going to come back and bite you in the a$$. Be thankful that they are taking these precautions!

Wee bit of overreacting to what probably was a passenger who had a few too many in-flight drinks and had to use the loo..
Next time should avoid the hassle just piss in a bottle and give it to an attendant to dispose of...

Protect me protect me!!! Wahhhhh I cant look after myself... Really? Thats how you act? Everybody already went through multiple security checkpoints etc etc etc... and people are still afraid...

Any idea how expensive it is to launch 2 F-16's? Over a person using the bathroom?

Id rather face danger than have any of my liberties or freedoms taken away... What ever happened to the day where people watched their own backs, didnt have to rely on others for it...

How about I not be thankful that they are infringing on my rights and everybody elses rights, people should be responsible for themselves, and their families, not have other people responsible for you and your family

I was'nt aware these glorified airline waitresses (because thats all they are) keep watch on who and how many times they go to the potty! Did it ever occur to them that middle aged people do tend to pee more often than younger ones? Does it ever occur to them that medication or a medical condition can also cause more visits to the potty? Is it now a crime to use the toilets on airlines?

So before you are subjected to TSA on the ground for a perverted pat down, you're being watched by dill brain glorified airline waitresses counting how many times you use the bathroom on your flight........jeezes, what's next?

The USA won't be on my holiday destinations anytime soon either.

This is exactly how they want us to think. And probably why they blew it out of proportion and went to extremes anyway. Hell it wouldn't surprise me if they planned the whole fiasco.
