No you .

X-men, mutants or whatever. Christ doesn't have to be weird.

Before I drop anything and start following after some would-be "Christ," regardless of his superpowers, I think it would be an excellent idea to compare what he has to offer and what he says with the crazed writings of a bunch of religious zealots a couple thousand years old. Just to be sure.

Every day that I sit in traffic I understand why God didn't give us superpowers. Because we'd use them!

Yeah. All he has to be is his usual, demon casting, necromancing, Devil conferring guy who likes to cure people and raise the dead once in a while. You know. Just folks.

What if the 144,000 have simply unlocked the 95% of the "junk" DNA. Maybe they have just improved their optic nerve to see an expanded light spectrum? Or they understand Quantum Physics at such a level that to the average person, they are performing miracles/magic depending on your perspective of good and evil?

When really they are operating according to some universal laws that others are not able to understand yet.

Regards and Nameste,

As a couple of posters have said, this is pure comic book crap.

BUT, it's important predictive programming crap. The scenario the OP describes is nothing more than than the "New Universe" (geddit?) from Marvel (Stan Lee's company):

The premise behind the New Universe line of comics was the question "What would happen if normal people became superhuman overnight?". The event that started it all was known as the White Event.

It was a strange astronomical phenomenon that occurred on July 22, 1986, 4:22 a.m., EST, and lasted for mere moments. It bathed the Earth in a bright white light and caused genetic anomalies in two out of every one million humans, which led to them developing certain powers. Many looked completely normal, but for others, the anomaly resulted in a physical manifestation which led to horrible disfigurations. Human beings who developed a reaction to the White Event were referred to as "Paranormals".

Eventually, the true nature of the White Event was revealed: it was caused when an immortal being known as The Old Man tried to rid himself of the Star Brand, the most powerful energy source in the known universe, by transferring its power onto an asteroid. In many ways, the New Universe was the first time concepts of advanced human potential were explored in popular media

It's important to note here that this event of "super people" is "triggered" by a "white event", a massive bright light event across the world. If there is anything to this Oct. 28, 2011 hoopla, this could be the "white event" or like the predictive programming says, in July (of next year).

It's also interesting to note that after the white event comes the mega destruction of "Pittsburg" (in reality NYC/ ritualistic Bablyon is destroyed - this would be 12-21-12). And after the "Pitt" event comes the mandatory draft event - pretty much mirroring Operation Blackjack in many respects.

Excellently put. A concept that all us atheists who love our fellow man and all the creatures of the earth can relate to but because this proposed god of 'love' is so desperate for servility and blind adherence that that it does not matter to him /her how you act or conduct yourself in this life but as long as you pay your tithes and reserve an hour each week to listen to fiction, then you will watch the unbelievers deprived of immortality and feel good about it.. Ridiculous.

Better to be free in hell than a slave in heaven!

Dunno who said that first, maybe me!

As far as i can see this god of love does'nt care how i live my life as long as i do as i'm toldand bow down to him or i suffer death and eternal damnation in hell.
Sounds like a desspot dictator to me.

I wouldn't perceive it as "the second coming of Christ". To make up your mind on something you have no knowledge of is ignorant.

Everything has an explanation though. As a future biologist I would be interested in examining these people more closely to find out the source of their superpowers. Only after examining can I reach a conclusion.

Of course with their consent that is. So don't bring me his/her tranquilized a** anywhere near my lab.

Sober will do it.

For there to be a 'second coming' there has to have already been one, and I doubt there ever was....

Pics or it didn't happen?

According to The Revelation of Christ, the 144,000 "sealed" of Israel are protected against the various plagues described. This does not necessarily mean that they themselves have some sort of super powers.

Christians have always had supernatural "gifts" like the ability to heal and the ability to raise the dead. Sadly, they often choose to withhold these gifts.

As the plagues described to some extent parallel those described as afflicting Egypt and documented in the book of the Exodus, it would be expected that a similar protection that was over Israel (in Goshen) would be over the 144,000.

No-one ascribed supernatural powers to the Israelites themselves, while they were under captivity to the Egyptians, so it is likely that the 144,000 are not the "owners" of the true power which is from God.

I would, personally, wait for the Christ Himself, the fact that some claim super powers would cause me to believe that His return and the completion of His redemption of Mankind, is Immanent.

Additionally, I don't think that he would have a beard.

In the Revelation, He is described as still bearing the marks of his crucifixion.

One of those was that His beard was torn out.

The old world pictures of an unblemished, Caucasian Christ with little lambs all around Him are based on cultural preferences, not noted facts.

He was a Carpenter by trade, not a Shepherd.

He was Semitic, not Caucasian.

He was tortured so heavily that "He was unrecognizable as a man".

And at His return, will personally execute millions in a battle that He fights, unassisted, against the massed armies of the Beast.

After the final battle, He will be noted as the victor whose clothing is colored by being "dipped in the blood of His enemies".

He is the strong, pivotal and dominant force in History, gentle to His adherents and terrible to His opponents.

a new breed that mutates from the rest.... with new abilities and perception of reality...

would you view this as the second coming..

or would you still hold out and wait for one guy with a beard like in the pictures?

plz answer thanks

We already have people with "Super powers". True "Psychics" that have these phenomenal abilities (which I believe we all inherently do, some more evolved than others), could be considered to have "Super powers". Weither it happens as depicted in comic books or not, these people are absolutely phenomenal, and I believe are the next stage of evolution, happening now.

You mean something like this?

Christ came to teach us a a very important lesson, but I don't know what to think about an eventual second coming...

Why didnt the girl in the above clip just fly off instead of land first...hmmmm.

You do know the 144 000 are Jewish men from the Twelve tribes of Israel, who also havnt had relations with women.
Some strange people and questions on this site sometimes.
A little knowledge before posting an article would be a good idea

Revelation 14 (King James Version)

1And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

2And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

3And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

4These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

5And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

6And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Matthew 24

King James Version (KJV)

Matthew 24

1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand

16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

25Behold, I have told you before.

26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I think that the evidence will be a bit more than some characters from a popular set of movies or the new series. Read the signs I posted above and tell me what would you believe if it all came down that way?
