Great Balls of Fire! 'Top Gun' to be Re-Released in 3D
Will bring awesomeness into a whole new dimension

According to The Hollywood Reporter, efforts are underway to 3D-ify Tom Cruise (amongst other things) in a proposed theatrical re-release of "Top Gun."

Conversion house Legend3D—which has done yeoman's work on such recent films as "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"—is championing the project, with its CEO Rob Hummel recently premiering a four-minute preview of the converted film at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam.

I loved this movie as a kid, and now soon to be in 3D. That should be pretty cool, thought it was worth sharing.

I liked the original movie but why 3d.

Because we have to see Goose die in 3D.
J/k it is a gimmick but on the other hand young kids of this generation can now see it on big screen as I saw it.

They are out of ideas.
The movie industry is officially dead.

So we're at rehashing 80's movies in 3D then.

What next, The Goonies, Back to the Futures, (they could actually be pretty sweet). I know, I wanna see Beverly Hills Cop 3d, Why? Exactly. Why.

Excellent now I can watch Tom Cruise flip off the Soviets in glorious 3D, and let us not forget the iconic sing fest in the bar, everyone knows that was calling for a 3dism...come on admit it!

Ahhh. I would love to see a well done Back to the Future remake.

I loved those original ones.
