Hey everyone, hope you're all keeping well. I love this website and there is so many genuine people on here that I'm surprised I didn't think of this sooner. See the story is, my sister (in her mid 20's) is such a nice person. She has always been a strong, generous person who has helped me get through bad patches in my life and now I want help her out.

She had a bad break up a month ago with her boyfriend. Our city is small enough so everyone knows everyone. Last night was her birthday and it was the first time she went out for a few drinks in public. Her friends have been pure gems, they have been calling her phone and travelling to her house making sure she's OK. As I write this they're out now having the craic.

Anywho, my reason for starting this thread is that I've just qualified as a graphic designer and I have decided that I'm going to design her a birthday card/booklet to make her feel a small bit better. I am looking for any of you who are willing to help to please give a short little piece of advice that I can put into the piece. Something optimistic is preferred

Thank you all for your time and I wish you the best.

Forget about the past, you can't change it.
Forget about the future, you can't predict it.
Forget about the present, I didn't get you one

Excellent, I will use that one for my Ex;s birthday coming up this month.

I'll write it in the :'Rot in Hell you lying cheating whore!' card that I am putting together for the old darling.

I will admit I though that was funny,

A bit of emotional contrast is good

remind her how much you love her. i've never met a person who has been told "i love you" too much by someone who does love them. aside from the card, give her a hug too. hugs are the best.

Happy Birthday to you sister

People are more than the sum of their parts,
More than just minds, and more than just hearts.
Worth more than money, or treasure or gold.
Rarer than all jewels or stones ever sold.
Warmth, strength, and courage, their gifts,
Love, and compassion, our spirits they lift.
Without them the world would not be the same,
and today my dear sister, I give this acclaim.
I hope that you read this, and feel precious too,
because all of these words are reflections of you..

Go easy on me, it's my first attempt at greetings card poetry.
Hope it helps..
xx

I don't know if you'd want to use this, but it's a nice quote.

"If fame were based on kindness instead of popularity, on understanding and not on worldwide attention, you would be the biggest celebrity on earth. And to my heart, you already are."

I don't know who it's by, because when I originally found it, it just said anonymous.
