This is why a little empathy goes a long way in the world, and particularly war.
A lot of people joining to fight against the occupying forces in Afghanistan will do so because they don't understand why they are there in the first place. To them they'll feel like they are fighting for their freedom because a foreign power has invaded their land; particularly those that live in remote areas and get very little news from outside their general area.

What of the occupying forces that fight under the assumption that all the people that they are killing are their sworn enemies? I know plenty Arabs and even more Muslims, none of them come across the way they are portrayed in the media. I am in no way saying that there aren't crazy Muslims out there, crazies are in every background.
