I'm sort of a night owl and I stay up late on a regular basis.

It was about 1:30 a.m. last night (or should I say today waka waka) and I was about to go to bed but I wasn't entirely ready just yet.

Out of boredom I went to Google news just to browse around and found something peculiar.

The top news articles being posted (of course) were all about 9/11 and the memorial; talking about how special the memorial was and a video of politicians such as Bush making a speech.

How can it be possible for news related articles to be written and posted about an event that hadn't even happened yet? You expect me to believe that there were people gathered at the memorial at 1 in the morning? Or that people were making speeches at such an early time? Last I checked the ceremony wasn't supposed to happen till about 8 a.m.

here's an example

9/11 live video and article

The article speaks as if the memorial ceremony is already taking place and the video along with it shows it being broad daylight outside.
HOWEVER if you look underneath the title of the article you'll see that this article was published at 6:24 a.m. and updated at 7:31 a.m.

I wish I made this thread earlier when I was awake this morning to post the links at freaking 1 in the morning.

Point still stands however...

ATS peeps...same question...how is it possible to give "live coverage" and "accurate up to date news" on an event and speeches made at a ceremony that hadn't even happened yet? Or more importantly, WHY?

Yeah I know

This is why I should've posted the thread earlier this morning

Because the video attachments with those articles were still in daylight

It was just bizarre to see tis all

AHHHH well then that makes sense.

To make up for my error here's a joke:

What's the difference between 9/11 and a cow?

You stop milking the cow after 10 years.

I see it the way you do. Last update listed is prior to event, yet vid and pics are from the event.

Or is it like the Emmy's and those other hollywood awards? I could never figure that out. The commercials would show people at podiums (or is it podia?) laughing and talking, but yet the award ceremony would not be until a few days later. So, I always wondered, do they pre-tape it? (but then what about the "live" red carpet coverage?) And if they don't pre-tape it, do they just air a montage from earlier ceremonies from previous years?

So, is it possible they showed people from previous 9/11 ceremonies reading names and what not?

I thought the same thing too, but its usually clips from different shows that have already taken place... Take my word for it, the VMAs are something that I am not proud to admit that I have spent multiple hours researching
