One of my favorite drag songs.
Casandra - Abba.
Let's not pretend not to know the chorus...

Hah so I have never seen a drag king performance though I've always assumed they were out there somewhere.

They might not have the polish that the queens do but they are pretty entertaining nonetheless.

I did see that movie ages ago. I was so high I kept passing out so I only really remember the parts with Hedwig as a child. That song was great I'll have to grab a copy and give it another watch, I think my brother still has his on VHS.

Ironically one of the most disrespectful, yet most socially accepted forms of drag.
Straight men in a dress in order to mock women.
It can be quite funny too, depending on how it's done.

Vintage Drag!

Oh, those were the days.
Nothing like a bit of queer glamor, and a man in a frock to keep the chin up.

Classic song to an iconic film.
Scene form The Adventures of Priscilla to Gloria Gaynor's I will survive.

Dick Emery was probably best ever drag comedian. Classic from 70s UK comedy.

"ooh you are awful... but I like you" SLAP!

The one song I always wanted to do as a drag performance was the Ingrid Steeger number from the 1970s German comedy series Klimbim.
The song is called "Der Schneeman macht mir Heiss" (The Snowman makes me hot).
But there's so many things to get and do.
I mean where does one find a snowman like that in Africa in December?

All we get is fake snow, foreign trees and a colonial imagery of seasonal displacement.
So why not satirize the commercial and imperialistic sham?

The most Iconic Drag Queen Moments in Film.

It started with "Glen or Glenda" - the 1950s' man who put on a dress for Helloween, and then couldn't really take it off again, after he realized that men's clothing was "stifling".

A very good introduction to drag and historic film.

Desiré Debounet sings a most hilarious and unique version of "I am what I am".

Incidentally Debounet is also William Nelson, who invented the EPFX energy feedback machines, now banned in several countries, and apparently he lives in Hungary as a fugitive from US justice.

Oh dear, the girl should have stuck to drag to make her millions.

Amazing footage from the Georgia Southern University (2011).

The onus here is on "drag kings" (or even post-gender drag), with high energy entertainment.

The Pride Network Drag Show (2011).

The expected slickness and standards, despite some amateur filming (in the sense that the performance deserves a much wider range of angles and production).

You go girls!

Cooking with Drag Queens: How to make Coquito.

Very naughty drag queens demonstrate how to make a traditional Puerto Rican Christmas drink.

Christmas might be over for now, but it's so hot; I could sure sip on one of those drinks!
Yummy.
Now where do I get white rum?
I wonder if it could be replaced with something more ... global?

Rest in Peace Whitney Houston.

I was never a particular fan of Houston's, but I know many "ladies" were.
Many tears are flowing for this great talent.

I did like certain songs, and often thought her voice was as versatile as Eddie Van Halen's guitar riffs - a small sense of self-worth amplified into a symphony of self-expression!
It was a "stuff you" of self-assertion in an era of oppression and limited options.
But wait - weren't we playing "air guitar" to our headbanging; wasn't that like lip-synching?

Anyway, a tribute to Whitney, from Phuket: "One moment in Time".

You go girl - we'll always miss and remember you!
Whitney Houston - I will always love you (and lyrics):
