I just noticed the pictures you added to your OP.... What gets me the most... Has always been the pictures and footage of the people jumping.... Tears me apart.

Imagine being that scared...Imagine realizing that your only chance to live is falling 90 some odd stories and hoping that some how.... You get lucky....

I can only imagine.... How scary... How sad.

Brings tears to my eyes.

George Carlin and moments of silence, what doesn't he talk about?

Maybe we should have the background change every year on 9-11 to depict some of the events that took place that day. I don't think it's changed any other year from what I recall.

Out of curiosity, how will this be implemented. Will you just make it so no one can post at these times?

I just do not want to lose track of the time and post when I am not meant to.

I'm about 97% sure they wouldn't leave it up to the internet to conform to a moment of silence.

Sort of like being in Time Square and drawing a chalk circle on the ground and asking people not to step in it for a period of time.

As far as another poster that was talking about media, I saw the Falling Man documentary awhile back and found it pretty interesting. The question of whether he was in a random free fall when the picture was taken vs some sort of "state" of peace was an interesting question, especially against the backdrop of all the doom and gloom/military/war ect.

I don't think they figured jumping would be their only/best chance to live. They jumped knowing they'd die and that staying would be their best chance to live, but did so because the conditions were so terrible, the fire, no air, that there was no where else to go.

Some Did, some didn't. Regardless of reason, it is heart breaking. Not really the thread to get into that though.

Most of the people did not jump from what I heard
the blast blew them out the windows..

People were jumping after the planes hit and before the buildings collapsed. People jumped because they were trapped. You will probably see some footage of this on the history channel through out the day.

Yea im sorry for misleading you, yes people died that day, alot did, in their own "homeland" but do u realize how many people die in their own "homeland" because of the U.S. wars over seas? they are just trying to protect their country! why dont people get that? This is a justified act because of all the harm and people this country murders overseas.. please wake up!

You have not said anything that has not already been considered here..

As for whether or not 9/11 was justified... Well, no, it wasn't. It was no more justified than US aggression.

there is no justification for killing innocent people.

It's just sad. Regardless of who does it.
