Great reply and link you provided, sepermenu. I too, would like to know from the OP where he/she found this and, quite frankly, I'm a bit suspicious of it at this point.

You're gonna have to find more than one video like this. Try looking in the library of congress or something, but this looks like to me this NAIOMI or whoever did some really good video editing to create a hoax.

I have a feeling the lyrics werent originally on there. Im calling HOAX on the video.

I see no reason to call it a hoax yet, any more than I see a reason to accept it as real.

We need more information in this case to know whether it's real. But we certainly have enough information on the (often blatant and/or crude) methods truly employed and well documented in the historical record that it's not beyond possible for this not to be a hoax. I'm mostly suspicious of the way it was presented, and am trying to find better documentation still as it feels unlikely to have not been studied and written about in the past, if that easy to uncover. Even so, more answers are needed before it can be called one thing or another aside from 'not impossible'.

You're right. I, though, have seen that text effect before somewhere in After Effects. A previous poster mentioned that it could be for the new "They Live" movie.

This a good find if real. I am skeptical but, if real then a really wild item. There's no doubt at that time advertisers used these kinds of methods, and it does fit with the technology of the day. Still a hoax like this would be easy to do by almost anyone with a little know how and a common computer.

So I'm 50 50 at this point.

Well this seems to be an incredibly successful way to contain the sheeple, I mean ,it worked pretty well.
Many people today seem to still live this way.... Maybe another success we've yet to discover..

Seems very strange to me.

Why would someone upload this and then disappear?
How would they get hold of the footage?

I dont think this can ever be verified or debunked unless someone else can get their hands on original footage and what are the chances of that?

The problem with everyone's replies here is the lack of real affirmity.
The great match on font style, and the real hidden messages seem real to me.
This may be a real good catch, or may be a real good hoax.

It seems that no one wants to even admit that subliminal messaging has been used.
Well, regardless of this being a hoax it has been used and did a great job for the masses.

You see, subliminal messaging (SM for short), was and still is a very powerful tool.
SM has been used to program the masses ever since its conception.
It has been used to program soldiers in our armed services.
SM was the number one way to achieve the desired result in subjects.
If anyone researches the 1950's-1970's television and media programs, you will find tons of it.
More than you want to find, I am positive.

But now, after decades of using it, the information is just passed down each generation.
No need to use SM so blatantly anymore, people just teach their kids what has been programmed in them.

Thus, the American dream lives on without any interference.
And it had worked flawlessly for years.
Why do you think that People mindlessly consume?
Why do you think there is no rebellion?
I honestly believe because the large number of citizens are successfully programmed.
We should have rebelled decades ago...!
But it seems we are just loyal subjects.




Once you figure that out, you see an entirely different world...
Almost as if you have your "sunglasses" on!

I am sure this is a hoax, and will be untill we get a bit more iformation.

How can the film be confirmed as genuinne?

Most importantly: Who sits arround watching old TV station sign off film in slow motion? This is the question which makes me feel uncomfortable with this video. If we can find an insoder who let the cat out of the bag and directed a reasearcher at this footage then] we might have a story.
