I wish I were an engineer or something... you have no idea how unsafe some of the shelves in our house are. She built this huge bookshelf, floor to ceiling, out of an old water bed frame. I'm pretty sure it's not secured at all, just stacked up. I can't think of any possible way to secure it, it's going to be a nightmare if we have a large quake, just hope it doesn't fall on somebody. There's another ceiling height one in the kitchen too that I think is just sitting there over the sink. I know if we get hit I'm running the hell outside because it's not safe in here.

I would say wind. I heard the Santa
Ana's are really blowing. Some people
say the area has been known for
quakes after the Santa Ana's.

Wow - not sure you could find a quake
in there if their was one.
