You may surprised to find out what does go in many churches..that profess to have Jesus Christ as their Lord...

many good things come out of churches..but there is also much corruption and moral degradation in many christian churches. .... just think of the many alter boys who have been molested ,and enticed into sexual activity..in the back rooms and basements of their churches...and that is just one example.

What did you think about this?

I only wondered because you really don't say so it seems like you are waiting to get a feel from the crowd and plan to side with the majority? Just curious as to why not include your own personal thoughts especially when the issue is this cut and dried? Seems safe enough...

I just heard a story about a man who wanted to practice laying on of hands to heal people but he was not allowed to practice medicine without a license and so he became a priest or a minister or something like that and he was allowed that way to legally lay his hands on anyone who would have him.

...at my church, I'm labeled a practitioner. At my church (Phoenix Goddess Temple) I'm labeled a shaman," he said.
Averill has been working for the Temple for a year.

Averill is as qualified as a 'priest'
as 'Øbama' the community organizer is qualified to be a President

First amendment raid? Police raid a "Church" in Arizona...I
s your religion safe? Police arrest "Temple Healers" in prostitution sting operation in Phoenix and Sedona, AZ. Workers there perform sexual healing acts in exchange for money or "offerings. Is this a modern day prostitution loop hole or freedom of sexual healing religious warship? Are police infringing on their 1st amendment rights to practice religion? They are a 501c3 organization and labeled a church, so what is all the fuss?

(visit the link for the full news article)

They were given a 501c3 label on the assumption that they weren't simultaneously breaking the law. What's the point of being legally recognized as a church if you're just going to break the law anyway? So I don't think it's about the 1st Amendment in this case, any more than it was for Warren Jeffs. If you break the law, you get arrested. Doesn't matter if you claim you're doing it for "religious reasons" or personal reasons or whatever.

Some people might say, "Well, the law of God is above the law of man." And if you believe that, fine, many people do. But it doesn't mean somebody is somehow magically not breaking the laws of man by practicing prostitution, just because they claim it's the will of God. If that were true, I could start a "Church of the Home," buy a stockpile of weapons, and start taking people's homes at gunpoint simply because I believe it is the "law of God," and the laws of man that I am breaking don't matter.

GREAT first thread. S&F&

...Sex as a healing tool makes more sense to me than churches using priests to create pedophile rings. Just as an example.

i don't really know what to say about this "church" -- but great first post. Seems like an abuse of the first amendment on the "church's" part, which SUCKS because it is crap like THIS that gets people all riled up and gets legislation passed that chips away at our rights... *sigh*

So, i wonder if Marvin Gaye is their deity

I like your style, nice first thread!

I just do not understand how prostitution can still be illegal in these semi-modern times. What one does with ones body is that person business as long as one does not trespass on another person.

You're equating a scam to cover up for Prostitution to a real church? Amazing.

All churches promote prostitution. That's why scripture refers to them as "daughters of the Harlot", the Harlot being the oldest and all other religions are merely spin-offs and under the authority of The Harlot.

Jesus on a stick is an idol, people!

I wondered who was involved in the erection of the church?

It sounds like one of those gnostic sex energy cults, they are usually luciferean or Isis, Egptian, gostic roots. Black Magick.

Do I think it should be stopped. Yes, but not sure if police should do it unless they are harming someone or a child. Stopped with aware people, progressive world and love.

I am sure if there was a thorough and repeated investigation, becuase they might hide it on the first well, they might find something urgent to stop there, such as ritual murder. Trouble is I don't trust some police and some judges to do the right thing there, it would take wide awake people in large numbers.

As I told a friend.. at least they were upfront about the sex... the Catholic Church usually just waited to surprise you in the confessional!

no they were much covert than that.. making buddies first with the alter boys..

they made have planted ideas..in the confessional..asking about masturbation..then saying it isn't really that bad..and god understands...etc...slowly priming their targets ..so they could lure them into sexual acts...but I highly doubt it happened right there in the confessional....and if it did... it was rare.
