The Dwayyo is another Maryland legend related to my previous post on the
Snallygaster.
Not quite as much is known about the Dwayyo as the Snallygaster, but there are some resources online:
Google Search for Dwayyo
The Dwayyo appears to be similar to Bigfoot or a Werewolf. In fact, Maryland "bigfoot" sightings may actually be the Dwayyo.
I have heard one park ranger at Greenbrier State Park talk of seeing the Dwayyo during a Halloween event at the park. However, I have my suspicions that this was just a story to scare the kids.
Supposedly, there have been sightings as recent as 2009: Examiner.com
