Does it really matter what nationality you are accusing? I mean come on...

I would say it does when your making allegations of miss-deeds and criminality that steps outside of cultural norms. Some types of atrocity are well within the capability of some cultures while some are within the capability of others.

If cultural mores no longer hold even a little truth then I really fear for the world.. But I don't think we (humanity) have gone that far down the drain (yet) and as such don't believe this particular tale holds water.

That is not to say other atrocities are not being carried out but this one does not ring true for me.

You're really trying to say that Europeans are above cutting someone's head off?

What a naive and narrow minded view of the world.

There are sick bastards in every society, not just those populated by muslims and non whites.

Europeans soldiers are less likely to commit these acts in the modern battlefield than americans. And by Europeans I'm excluding british. British soldiers are more tied to american mentality than European mentality.

Reports of abuse by european soldiers against innocent civilians are rare if non existent.

You're basically arguing that Europeans are somehow superior, reminds me of the Nazi mentality, we are better, so we have the right to invade and occupy due us being superior beings, hence supremacist.

And other members who are saying this can't be verified, try searching Google for other sources, but don't expect MSM to report it, you know, they have already towed the line with NATO.

Superior? Apparently it seems so when it comes to code of conduct in the battlefield. We are not talking of the past. We are talking of the modern battlefield. Americans on the other hand...

For making me laugh you get a star I stick to my guns that I believe they are capable of a whole different set of atrocities and so in this instance I stand by my scepticism towards the allegation

I have no idea if he is telling the truth or not. I do know that some of the worst atrocities ever commited have been by the hand of the European and American hands. Anyone who disputes this is simplying denying all facts and history. If it hasn't being at their hands it has been at their direction. You may hide in your world of denial but it doesn't make it any less true.

The 3rd link(staugustine.com/entertainment/2011-08-27/remembering-mlk-and-march-1963), shows posted date as August 28.

Tracing Washington Post from PressDisplay, Michael E. Ruane byline piece is from 24th.

Someone is misreporting things. It contradicts his location being at Libya(CNN reporter , Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton), or his arrival quoted by Afro(Aug 31).

This Getty Images photo sourced by WPost shows created on August 22. www.gettyimages.com/detail/121738054/The-Washington-Post

Did he really attend the memorial? Or more date confusion? See this. Event scheduled for Aug 10 or Aug 28?

Testicles crushed with vice grips, being shoved naked into an open grave, limbs broken with rifle butts, these were just some of the "refinements"that a "civilised" European army devised in Northern Ireland and which I am ashamed to say I witnessed, but beheading does take some believing.
