I shed a tear watching this.

powerful stuff.

I wish everyone could see this and take these words to heart, especially those who govern.

*Edit, don't let the video preview picture throw you off, not sure why it's a meat freezer.

That is one of the most moving videos I have watched in recent memory. I'm glad I happened to be on when you posted this. S/F and I believe it's just perfect for the times we're living in right now.

If Ron Paul could speak like that, he would be our next President.
But, then, he might have just been tempted to be a dictator.
Great speech, and great video to go with it.

Yeah, despite a lack of other visuals, I love this with the musical background...first saw it an another compilation video someone posted here on ATS and fell in love with it.

Think I sat there and replayed it about 5 times in a row since I was so struck by it. Very moving, such great words.

And so damned strange to hear them coming from Hitler...anyone seen this whole film?

This isn't Hitler it's Hinkle from the movie the great dictator. If Ron Paul were to give this speech today his political career would be over. Everyone would be screaming socialist and communist. Chaplin spent a month writing this speech and I think it loses something without the opening from Herr Garbage.

As Chaplin was British he could never have been President of the US

As for the greatest speech ever it would have to be Sir Winston Churchill's "We will fight them on the beaches" speech:-

So come on tell me i am wrong.

The music sounds much like Eve-Online gameplay music, doesnt it? And very nice speech..its something a human must remind himself everyday or else it will be forgotten tomorrow. But I personally feel that people can change..I know I have changed!
Remind yourself every day and soon you wont have to remind anymore, you will be that better man you want to be
