Just seems to prove that OBWans "jobs" speech today was severe BS. We should all have the right to do the work that is necessary to keep our own local economy alive. Yet, this is a BIG part of our countries problem. Just sayin...

I think you might be off a little bit on your numbers. You said you were paid 285 dollars a day in 1971.
According to this website that calculates inflation:

What you could buy for 285 dollars in 1971 would cost you 1516.91 in 2010.
So you would have made the 2010 equivalent of 7584.55 in a 5 day work week and the 2010 equivalent of 379,227.50 in a 50 week year.
Pretty lucrative gig for a doctor or a lawyer let alone a kid who didn't even need a GED.
