From the COMPLAINERS ARE SOCIALIST Department:

Despite Paul Ryans professed love of the Constitution, apparently he and the goons working the badges at his little shindig forgot about 1st Amendment to that venerable document:

"Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech...or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Town Halls are exactly what the 1st Amendment to designed to promote, regardless of what your constituents have to say about your actions in office. The 1st Amendment was written specifically so that Americans, as opposed to 'subjects of the King' have a right to raise questions, make recommendations, complain to or even yell at their elected official without fear of being tossed in the dungeon- or gulag.

Oops - someone needs to send Paul Ryan the news that this is not a Feudal Monarchy any more. Tea Partyer my A$$. Ryan would have sold us down the river to King George if it were 1775.

From the original story:

these were paying attendees, Paul Ryan, isn’t that what the ticket price was for? Ryan declined to hold a single townhall open to the public during the recess but instead charged constituents $15, presumably because he was tired of being yelled at at no cost to voters. Perhaps a refund is in order?

Its infuriating to see such a police presence at such an event. If I were him or he a real man I would have asked them to leave. Nothing but a scared bunch of scoundrels that cannot face their own decisions or questions any longer!

Ed Muenster you gotta go broskie time to vote you out!

Hopefully one of his fans can come in here and justify this. This is becoming more than a sick little trend with politicians arresting people that do not agree with them and I do not see many Democrats doing it either. What is with all the police state worshipping on the right lately?

A certain song comes to mind...and one of my personal favorites.

He is clearly in violation of the first amendment. Who is going to hold him accountable for this contravention? What actions are being taken, if any?

Has nothing to do with Democrats or Republicans it has to do with the bought of criminals that are getting caught in their lies and stealing. Not only are the criminals who should be jailed they are nothing but a bunch of cowards. Their fear is guilt inspired and is becoming almost paranoia

Your last line is dead on. I am going to do a check to see who is still holding regular - open town halls without charging money and hosting a heavy jackbooted intimidation crew.

They feel they have to take those actions because they know people are angry and waking up to their BS, and the longer it continues the more likely it is heads will start to roll

You don't seem to understand. These right-wingers are right and if you don't want to bein their country you can just leave or be arrested. Rush tells them they are right, Bill O'Reilly tells them they are right. Sarah Palin tells them they are right, Hannity tells them they are right. They tell you how bad Obamacare has done things to this country (even though most of it doesn't even start till 2014). The sad thing is too many people just fall for it.

To vote for these folks you have to be either extremely rich or a corporation, if you aren't and you do vote republican, you're just plain stupid. Look what they did to this economy while the fattened the pockets of the wealthy and then blame Obama for the "bailouts" that Bush started. How can they just forget that?

Oh yeah and you need to keep tax breaks for the richest 2% of America or YOU ARE RAISING TAXES! Really?
A plain simple way to see how they are deceiving you with their rhetoric.
