13 citizens of Nepal have been kidnapped, confirmed by Nepalese officials. Nationals from Nepal have been banned from traveling or working in Iraq.

Aug. 23, 2004 � KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Nepal confirmed on Monday that 13 of its citizens had been kidnapped by an Islamic group in Iraq and appealed
for their release.
Nepal has banned its nationals from traveling or working in Iraq, but many people from the poverty-stricken Himalayan nation go to Iraq from other
countries in the Middle East to find work.

Nepal denies any involvement in the war with Iraq, and that it's citizens are innocent civilians working in Jordan. An islamic group has posted
pictures of the captured hostages on a website, the hostages holding up their passports, and one captive was holding an american flag across his
chest.
