I'm new to ATS (duh) and most everything discussed here. I'm a year out of high school and just started college this fall.

I've always been interested in UFO's, Area 51 and ancient civilizations. I'm convinced there is a whole lot of information out that that's deliberately being hidden.

I just discovered an interest in cryptozoology and have to wonder if some of these animals aren't the results of genetic manipulation.

Anyhow, I got tired of not being able to find any raw information from the usual sources. Believe or not, my grandma told me about this site. She said there were some of the best minds around to be found here.

I trust her judgement, so here I am.

Welcome! I think it is funny that your G-ma pointed you our way. I gave you a flag for that one. Flags by the way are a good thing and get you noticed on the boards faster.

Welcome fellow truth seeker,

This site is a great resource for the thinking mind. Just know how to filter through outrageous information and doomsday prophecies. A while back when I first joined I would follow the doomsday stuff religiously and it became damaging to my mental health....I learned to relax and take things with a grain of salt...The world is a spectacularly wondrous place and some of lifes greatest mysteries are discussed here. I love it. Welp, welcome aboard.

I'm hoping to learn here from brighter minds than my own. I've been given a few names (yes, by my grandma) of people that seem to know their stuff. I still like to do my own research, and the rule of posting sources is a huge help.

Yeah, I've already been warned about that. Seeing all these threads with sources linked, though, is what gives this site it's credibility.

I don't know about posting a thread, though. I just have too much to learn yet.
