Hello ATS!
Welcome to my first thread. For it I decided to go with something I have thought about for a very long time. This is about a plant called U.S.E.C. [United States Enrichment Corporation]. Formerly known as Lockheed Martin, and before that as Martin Marietta. Located in Piketon, OH. It is known to the public as a gaseous diffusion plant. Let me start off by explaining a few overhead pictures of the plant.

Overhead Plant Pictures

The image above is an overhead view of the plant using google maps. Just west of the plant is Highway 23.

I was told by multiple security guards that this is a pond that helps cool the nuclear reactors. The nuclear reactors are said to use 1.6 million gallons of water a day to keep them cool.

Here is where they store uranium. They are small boxes each on its own separate slab of concrete.

An Area51 of Ohio?

Ok. So let me start off by saying that I grew up around the area of this plant. I know many retired, and current employees there. I will not name any names, or their relation to me as some the things I will be saying were sworn by the employees to secrecy.

Here are some stories I've been told by retired, ex-employees, and current employees along with my opinion.

You can get to any part of the plant through underground tunnels.
-This one I know to be true. Years ago back when I was a kid, the plant used to give tours and would take you through a couple of those tunnels in order to swing around some of the more secretive areas.

The plant has facilities that are up to 3 miles underground.
-This was told to me by a retired employee. Seeing how secretive and big this plant is, I think it could be possible.

A retired employee once asked me if I have ever seen that Will Smith movie called, "Enemy of the State." He then continued to explain that this plant had that kind of technology back in the 80's.
-The guy who told me this is not known to throw around lies, and after hearing his story of why he retired, I find it hard to not believe some of the things he says.

He was a security guard with a class G clearance, which I'm told is the highest clearance a security guard can get there. While patrolling one day he seen a bolt fall into one of the pipes that sends water to cool one of the nuclear reactors. He grabbed a mesh screen and went to the end of the pipe, laid down on his stomach, and held it over to fish out the bolt. Next thing he knows, it is 2 weeks later, and he is within a hospital inside the plant. They removed 2 layers of skin off of him. (today they require employees who do that now to wear a lead plate, and protective gear)

Now here is what made up his mind to retire. The security guards there have like an exercise game. Mind my poor wording. It's where they have a specific scenario and they play out certain tactics involving that scenario. Well one day during one of those exercises he went into an area he wasn't supposed to be in. They never said anything to him that day about it, but a week later, he had a loud awaking around 4am at his home.

Officers in S.W.A.T. gear busted into his home, threw his wife, and his children against the wall and held them all at gunpoint while searching his home. They completely trashed the place and he later found out that it was all because of that area he accidentally went into earlier that day. He retired a few weeks later because of that.

Strange sounds & lights

All through my life, I have heard and seen strange things around that plant. Once my friends and I were out hiking in the woods near the plant testing out some new night vision goggles we purchased earlier that day. Around midnight we heard a loud boom and felt the ground tremble a little bit. We then see two bright orbs shoot straight up from the plant and up into space. After it shot up, all of us got goosebumps, and our hair just stood straight up. It was almost as like were literally shocked by electricity and it is a moment I will never forget.

Some friends I made later on in life once told me they were playing in another area of the woods around dusk when two bright orbs came straight down from the sky and was heading right towards them. They said they took off running and when they looked behind they could see those orbs swinging around trees trying to keep up with them. They eventually made it out and to their mothers house and never spoke about it again until recently.

After I heard their story I was shocked for awhile and then told them my story and it was just an interesting moment since we both seemed to describe these same two orbs.

I hope to figure more things out about this place and try to figure out some truth. So I ask if anyone finds anything interesting to please post it so I can then get me a theory about what that place really does.

Here is a link to U.S.E.C.'s website. usec.com...

I hope you enjoyed my first thread. I know I have lots to improve on, and hopefully after being with ATS for awhile longer, I will get the hang of it.

Interesting story, it's curious that they would give tours to the public and show them the tunnels. Who knows, great post though. S&F

It was a long time ago when they used to give tours. I would guess around 14 years ago since they last gave a tour of their facilities. I was around 13 at the time when I got my tour with my father. Ever since then they have had nonstop construction. After 9/11 they added guard shacks 1 mile away from the plant all around. They have their own exit ramp off the highway as well.

Many people think it's an exit ramp to another highway, but then get stuck at the guard shack and is stuck getting searched, their car searched, and patted down before being aloud to get out of there. Inside the guard shack is a wall full of weapons and pictures of "local terrorists." It is also named one of the top 10 places in the US to be bombed.

Which part of the plant do you think the orb came from

Or was it more around the water pond

The orbs came out from somewhere within the middle of the plant. The area we were at, we couldn't see the plant due to the trees. But it was clear that it came from that plant.

First off, I too live near U.S.E.C. as well and have known people that worked there/currently employed there.
It is nothing more than a gaseous diffusion plant...it does however maintain high security due to the fact of what materials they handle at the facility. This is a plant that has to maintain tight and heightened security just simply for what they do there. It is mostly a commercial grade enrichment facility for the Dept of Energy. In the past it was used for fuel and weapons grade enrichment...but just commercial now...well as far as anyone is told anyway. lol
As far as cooling (water pond) for the reactors...the reactors you are thinking of were removed many years ago, as well as the cooling towers. gaseous diffusion does not, as far as I understand, use active reactors - it is a centrifuge process now. This is an enrichment process and not utilizing the same technology they had with the larger breeder reactors they had in the past. Different tech for different needs now.
But again...orbs? Not really sure what to think there...but keep in mind, with the fact they handle uranium, and from what I gather, a very large portion of the available commercial uranium that the U.S. uses, and they also re-enrich weapons grade materials into energy fuel....I would say they have the latest and greatest security technology available. Those "orbs" could have very easily been remote drones for surveillance or to scare off locals that get a bit too curious. Just my opinion. Keep in mind...tech we see now...was already in place by the military a long time ago. And the military is responsible for security there.
Anyway...it is an intriguing place....but I doubt highly a Area51 of Ohio...more luck poking around Dayton at Wright Patt Airforce base I would think...

And yes I have heard the stories too about issues emplyees had there...mainly though it is more about the dangers of working around and being exposed to something as harmful as uranium and its by-products. Nasty nasty stuff.

There is just something about that place that has always intrigued me. Especially after I heard about facilities being up to 3 miles underground. A current security guard I know working there who has the highest clearance a security guard can get, has many areas of the plant even he is not allowed to go, from what he tells me.

If you drive down the road to a town called Lucasville, and turn west at the main intersection, you'll come to another intersection and catercorner from that is a junk yard called Autosite. Every few years that plant sells off all their old security vehicles in bulk and that junkyard is usually the place that gets most of them. When I was looking around at the last bulk there, they were all around `94 year model vehicles, all with under 50,000 miles. Now all of these vehicles barely had any paint left on them. It looked like it rained rust on them. I purchased one of the vehicles for $500 and still drive it as a spare vehicle to this day. You'll also find interesting items left in the car. I got a free nightstick and found a box full of tools in the vehicle I bought. lol

The underground areas that are off limits....more than likely bio/radiation hazard zones for storage. I highly doubt they want any way possible, anyone getting near that stuff. Yes I can imagine the paint being eaten off of the vehicle and equipment scrapped from there. We really have no idea what long term effects a plant like that can have on the people and environment. With something like radiation...only time will tell.

I used to drive deliveries into U.S.E.C. years ago....like early 90's....security is tight - very tight - I can verify that...and there are many places no one but the highest clearance are aloud in....including the guards. Basically you dropped the items off in a secure drop zone...everyone left, it was locked down and the techs that worked in that section came to get them. Or if you were there to do an assembly in a secure zone...you had to pass clearance, and the entire area was closed down and secured around you. All areas around where you worked, closed off from access and view. But again...with what they deal with...not surprising at all.
Lol...for $500 does the car glow in the dark? I had to tease on that one. I would be very leery of purchasing anything that was scrapped from there over the years.

But at least...so far...the materials they have produced there haven't reanimated the dead in the cemeteries nearby. Now THAT would be more worrisome than an Area51 scenario in my opinion....

So has anyone heard whether they got the gov't grant to go full production there yet? Or did it dry up? I had last heard they may close it down if USEC didn't get the funding to go forward. Just curious.

Not sure about that one. I know awhile back they were hiring a ton of people for something.

You can probably run a search using USEC as a keyword at the Portsmouth Daily Times website and come up with something about it.

This is the information on their website.
"USEC Inc. (NYSE:USU) is a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel and nuclear industry related services for commercial nuclear power plants. USEC operates the only U.S.-owned uranium enrichment facility in the United States and supplies more than half of the U.S. market and more than a quarter of the world market. 2010 revenues were more than $2 billion."

More from REUTERS about their STOCK portfolio

REUTERS_LINK

Perhaps we should focus on the individuals of the company that might help shed some light if there is anything to uncover???

I'm sure the security has a lot to do with the Radiation hazard that comes with the product that it deals with.

But then again one may never know if it can also be doubled as a testing facility for OTHER products

Exactly. That's material that no one wants in the wrong hands...as well as uber-expensive.
The security is fully for that factor and for the breaking down of antiquated warheads - turn into enriched fuel.

I was just reading that article on the joint warhead disposal...good read. At least someone out there is trying to make the world a little better....at least on the surface it looks that way...

The security guards I know do pretty well keeping the secrets they were sworn too. Most of them are also pretty valuable members of their communities, and a good bit of them are freemasons. I mostly just keep my ears open and try to steer the subject to around their work. Every once and awhile they let things slip out, but I find it easier just to speak to retired laborers from there. They tend to speak more openly, but half the time they are somewhat crazy and tell me unbelievable stories. So it's hard to figure out what they are telling the truth about, and what they are just making up.

They are very specific for employment there as well for the security guards. For drug testing, they use the hair follicle test. They check all of your debts for the past few years to see if you made all of your payments on time. It's some sort of trustworthy thing, I can't remember the specific word they used for it. You pretty much have to have some sort of police training to even be considered. The first year they put you as escort, then after that you have a chance to become a guard. These escort jobs pay starts at $29 an hour, and all you do is go to a specific area and watch people work all night. Sometimes you get lucky and you actually get to escort somebody within the plant.

Probably Q clearance.

They did/do gaseous diffusion at Oak Ridge. Maybe this is the only US commercial plant of this type.

This thread shows exactly how a true story spins out control. Original post goes up. Somebody clears up a few loose ends. Then comes the free masons. Doh! Why not the Bilderbergers?

The reality is that reality isn't always that exciting. Take those escorts for instance. Minders are very common in secure facilities where you need to bring someone in without clearance. There are skill sets needed from the private sector possessed by people who don't want to put up with clearance. Repairing or calibrating instruments for instance.

It is very common to have your financial background checked if you are getting clearance. You don't want someone with money problems handling the secret sauce recipe because they can be bribed. Probably Q clearance.

^ And you prove nothing either. This guy seems to be telling true things about tunnels. If there are such places then the 'underground facilities' and connection of tunnels within the US is no longer a myth but a proven fact.

The OP sounds telling true stories, then how does the OP expect us to believe anything else like the orbs, the unauthorized visit of one of the persons you know? The tunnels seem true but else? Do you have anything to say or did you shape your story?
