its not so much about existence, but more pointing towards what we are. What we truly are might not be in existence at all. As an example, take an artist that creates a portrait of himself. There are plenty of elements of him self represented in that 2D reality, but that is not the artist. It all about dimensions, if we are really another dimension how can we be an expression?

Depends on what you mean by 'real'.

To some, the eternal is real.

To some, the temporary.

Some say we are 'reflections' of whats Real. Simply signs of something that is much bigger and powerful. A temporary existence within a non existence.

Thanks for the post

Ah but the brain is so much more.

Lets look at an action or thought from reverse:
We make a decision.
We have a thought.
Multiple neurons are depolarized in a web.
A single neuron is depolarized.
I single chemical reaction happens.
What then? How much farther back can we go?
(all form part of the physical reality, even a dragonfly is a miracle, nothing wrong with the chemical view, but physical reality can be heard as sound also. which one is true?Do they know each other?)

If it all stems back to a chance molecular reaction then we are not thinking.

We are just very fancy chemical reactions.

But we aren't are we? There does seem to be a lot more to it than that

(heartily agree!)

Edit~If you like philosophy I highly recommend checking out a course in Eastern Religious Philosophy. It will blow your mind. There are so many text dating back thousands of years on crazy philosophy subjects like this.

-Rene Descartes-

Kinda ruins the first line of your post.

Jean-Paul Sartre replied to Descartes with an even more brilliant phrase:

The consciousness that says 'I am' is not the consciousness that thinks.

You should meditate on it.

No 'thing' is real. All 'things ' are temporary.
The real is what is all seeing and all knowing and ever present.

So you are real but the universe/world is not.
However nothing has existence.

One can not say 'I am' or 'I am not' without consciousness.
However 'I' is prior to consciousness.
'I' is absolute.

This 'I' is one.
This 'I' is eye.
The all seeing eye.
