1 Sperm Donor, 150 Siblings

The mother wanted her son to meet some of his half siblings, brothers and sisters fathered by the same sperm donor she used. To their shock they find 150 other children fathered by this man. What a legacy.

Good lord. 150 siblings?! How do you think the father feels?

So that raises the question (as stated in the source)
Should they put a limit on the number of children a sperm donor can father?

Wow, hopefully the kids are not all in the same city. Not sure if I would want to find out that my wife is my sister....

I certinly dont feel that way about it, i mean 150 from one guy, i mean even if he has good genes, one guy, that many, i thought variety was the spice of life....

Good answers. I would love to meet this guy, the funny thing is in the article it says they all look very similar, id love to see them all together.

Isn't that dangerous with the chance of inbreeding being so high as they would never know it's incest till DNA is tested.

Oh I would absolutely think so. That will just spread those genes around the gene pool like wildfire. I wonder the proximity of the area in which all the siblings live?

Actually very good for the gene pool. I suspect the donor was very intelligent not to mention good looking.

Judging from the "dumb as a box of rocks" faces I see when I go shopping, we need a few people fathering children who are smart enough to pee without getting themselves wet.

I was thinking more along the lines of The Family Guy sperm bank episode "Sibling Rivalry"

Regardless, this guy has 150 kids. Thats a story to tell at parties if i have ever heard of one. Theres good looking, intelligent people out in the world thanks to him, just hopefully they dont intermingle down the road.

The problem I have with the IVF program ising donor sperm.....

If a man can father 150+ kids, it makes it more possible two of them will meet and have intimate relations unbeknown to them, committing incest.

It's only half incest since they don't have the same mother.

You obviously aren't friends with any royals.

Half siblings share roughly the same genetics as 1st cousins. Their children share roughly the same as 2nd cousins. Their grandchildren share roughly the same as 3rd--and that's where the line is considered safe--whether or not any of them could quit freaking out at the thought of it. So half-sibling's decendants can breed together sooner, statistically.

Well, I would still be creeped out knowing I was thrashing my cousin.

Hence why if they could get over the creep-factor. Got to remember I live in an area where a lot of people have a tap root, not a family tree.
