David Cameron is calling for an inquiry into events in Libya and the ties between the Labour Party and the former regime. Inquiry

This will be yet another cover-up conducted in plain sight where various politicians will be dragged out and will lie and lie again to cover-up the true extent of the loathsome dealings the UK government had with Gaddaffi and his insidious regime. The involvement in rendition, acts which are illegal in the UK, will be glossed over, any other grubby dealings will be hidden away, and in the end nothing will come of this inquiry.

Blair and Brown have their hands in this mess, but it remains to be seen the role played by that arch plotter Mandelson in all this business.

It is utterly disgusting that this will happen, it is an affront to decency, it is criminal, and we the British public deserve better from those elected to serve our interests. I am sickened by the acts of the Labour Government in relation to it's foreign policy. There are no excuses for the active involvement in torture and supporting the former evil regime in Libya. Heads should roll, prosecutions should be made, and severe sentences handed down to those who made the decisions, approved the decisions, and were involved in criminal endeavours!

Off course there will be a cover up, in any inquiry there has always been, information withheld from the public. For so called national security. Thing is will the UK Government Apologise?

No they will not.

There has to be a cover up, and a rewrite of history to boot, to make sure people just don't seem to realize the ONLY functioning Direct Democracy in the world was assassinated by banks. It's sickening.

Sadly Rob37n, the previous Labour Government whom were possibly involved in this (??) :-) are currently making their fortunes selling their latest 'tell all secrets' books and public speaking events, going on about how brilliant they all were............... I would like to see them brought to account and MADE to give back their ill gotten gains................... bunch of crooks the lot of them !!!!!!

they don’t even need to try to cover it up tho

we have seen in the past that all they need to do is say nothing and pretend the issues don’t exist.

hopefully its this type of regard for the public (that they can be tricked like small children) that will finally cause us to rise up and knock the oil barons off their dildo thrones.

What do we do to restore democracy and accountability to the UK?

Our politicians are seemingly above the rule of law. They hold the entire electorate in utter contempt. They feather their own nests at our expense. They indulge in abhorrent practices that the entire country does not support and nothing happens.

Libya - on one hand instrumental in removal of the regime, on the other close personal friends with the Colonel and his cronies.
Iraq - an illegal war waged on innocent people leading to untold death, destruction, and misery. A country sold into US slavery to pay for the war.
Afghanistan - another illegal war waged on behalf of the US military industrial complex that achieves nothing other than to kill, injure, and maim young British men and women in the battle space, and continues to terrorise the populace of Afghanistan without achieving any demonstrable goals whatsoever.

Who is next? Syria? Turkey because they are siding with the Palestinian people? Who else would we sell down the river? The Dalai Lama to keep in with the evil communist regime in Peking? We already treating the Gurkhas badly, a body of men who offer nothing but unending devotion and loyalty through their service. The British population is betrayed on a daily basis by giving preference to anyone but those people who pay their taxes.

I am utterly sickened by the behaviour of this and previous governments. They do not represent the beliefs, views, or anything else held sacred by the public. We are just cattle, and we're ripe for the slaughter.

David Cameron calls for investigation in to Blair and Brown's ties with Ghaddafi?

Does that mean we should also investigate Cameron's ties with Libyan rebels and Al Qaeda? Or how about we investigate the allegation NATO slaughtered 1000 Libyans just in one hit then blamed it on Ghaddafi?
