Hong Kong PMI points to contraction

Hong Kong's Purchasing Managers' Index eased to 47.8 in August compared to a 51.4 print for the headline reading in July. The result was below the 50 level which divides contraction from expansion, marking the first time Hong Kong's private-sector economy has deteriorated in more than two years. Employment conditions for the month showed the first contraction since Dec. 2010, while output declined at a moderate pace, and new orders also showed a constaction, reversing from a slight rise in June. The PMI marked the worst deterioration in overall operating conditions in Hong Kong for 26 months, accoring to HSBC.

More interesting news out of Asia today with the release of PMI data from Hong Kong. This just coming in after some sharp drops in Asian trading today (so far).

From some of my readings, it appears a lot of data is pointing back to around the 2 year mark during which time was the recession. But as it has been noted in various media releases, there are less options available now than back then for reviving the world economy. Will be interesting to see what governments, agencies and central banks do in coming weeks and months as things deteriorate.

I have been making the claim China is going to collapse for a while now...It is Destiny. You cannot fudge the numbers year over year, Have a public that will work for peanuts forever, and cities that are ghost towns after construction. They are only successful because they pay their workers nothing and we buy their cheap products! They provide the cheap labor and the capitalists go in and abuse them completely and utterly but what does the communist government care? Its raining dollars baby! They are being used end of story..They never are,were or will be a threat in the future. Wait till the Gold bomb busts and inflation sky rockets even further and what they owe us will be a kick in the can to pay back. The gold they invested in will be worthless once again and they will be ruined 6 ways from Sunday. No matter the size of their Army they are surrounded on all sides and have one air craft carrier.

Ahh yes...Let the paper tiger continue its dance in the wind for it will be long too late before it realizes it danced over a cliff and the wind has stopped blowing.

And forget aircraft carriers. They are a floating death trap. China's been concentrating on submarines. Those are far more deadly. I guess you haven't heard of China's devatastating new anti-ship missle?

Bro a Missile means little against a ship armed with Phalanx systems and a Missile means even less when you have the capability to disrupt the RF signal its being guided on through out a region that scales the world...

America was able to out produce the World in munitions during WW2. Do not think for a second what we did some 70 Years ago is not possible today. We were behind on technology during WW2 because we wanted peace as a people..The World wanted War. Let us not fail to deliver what the World wants the next time someone thinks they are the biggest and the baddest of them all...
