Excellent article written by a 30yr Capitol Hill GOP staffer who retired because of the lunacy and hypocrisy. He goes into detail about GOP tactics, goals, and the military and religious affiliations. Must read!

Goodbye to all that: reflections of a GOP operative who left the cult

To those millions of Americans who have finally begun paying attention to politics and watched with exasperation the tragicomedy of the debt ceiling extension, it may have come as a shock that the Republican Party is so full of lunatics…. The Congressional directory now reads like a casebook of lunacy. […] It should have been evident to clear-eyed observers that the Republican Party is becoming less and less like a traditional political party in a representative democracy and becoming more like an apocalyptic cult, or one of the intensely ideological authoritarian parties of 20th century Europe.

A couple of years ago, a Republican committee staff director told me candidly (and proudly) what the method was to all this obstruction and disruption. Should Republicans succeed in obstructing the Senate from doing its job, it would further lower Congress's generic favorability rating among the American people. By sabotaging the reputation of an institution of government, the party that is programmatically against government would come out the relative winner.

He uses all the DNC talking points and the same wording we have seen for the last few weeks. He should clearly identify himself as a Democratic Party operative. Honesty is everything.

Beyond that, nothing new. Same old, same old other than he gives a few words in the start to make it seem like he is Independent, but then he goes on to exactly parrot the DNC talking points using the same words they all use. Nothing original and clearly he is in campaign mode for the Democrats and an honest person would say so.

This is an old tactic we see all the time. I'm not actually a (fill in Democrat or Republican depending on the case), but here is why I hate the (fill in the opposite Party).

I have more and more of those these days myself.

I'm growing weary of both the Democrats and Republicans these days, how about you? Most people I know are talking like they are also. Time to fire them all and start over?

Well, in the end it doesn't matter. This little "story" is just more fluff inspired by the democrats to spur on anti-republican sympathies. Does't matter who the poilitician is theyre all lying to get in office and once they get there they welch on their promises. Trust them at your own peril. If they are trying to move us towards the apocalypse its prophecy, self fulfilled or otherwise. All these things will come to pass.

You can look on your tv and practically any news channel shows the entire planet in chaos and sliding further into the hole, wether its from the chaos and upheaval in the middle east, to the crap going on in North Korea and China, to the world economy being in the tank and the European Union about to take a swan dive off the high dive of an empty olympic sized pool. I think it's safe to say the whole world realizes something has gone horribly wrong, and its reeling from that revelation. All the banks in the world are going bottoms up, as was planned a long time ago, look at the Bank of America, selling off its bonds and stocks in a futile effort to repay its debts and pretty soon the U.S. will have to sell real estate to China to pay off it's debts. If its the New Apastolic Reformation youre claiming is a cult, maybe it is but i'd rather not worry about the enemy you can see than the one you cannot see about to slide a knife between your short-ribs.

I never voted Republican, I could see they were evil. They are the party of greed. "Greed is good" to them. But Bill Clinton and Obama are, I just don't know what. NWO Manchurian drones, I'd say. Clinton sat there on November 12 1999 and with one stroke of the pen, removed the Glass-Stiegal Act, put there in 1933 by Franklin Roosevelt. And that wasn't enough, so he handed all media monopoly (like am talk radio) over to the Repubs.
Hence, Limbaugh, Boortz, Hannity, Savage, for --starters-- .
I have a powerfull psychic feeling that Ron Paul is going to wake up and smell the GOP koolaid and go Independent. Maybe him and Dennis Kucinich as running mates. Yes!

Someone's drinking the republican Kool-aid.

I'm not saying the democrats don't have their own Kool-aid. But the republicans kool-aid is worse in the sense that the people drinking it are much more brainwashed. Most republican politicians ARE hypocrites and lunatics.

The guy is right. And if you don't see that, you're probably part of the cult.

This comment below the article nails it.

PerfectClue1
There is a lot of empirical set of facts, what is, but no real examination of why and how these rotten outcomes came to be in the first place.

There are several implied arguments made but a failure to follow through them historically suggests a fear of ideology and conclusions that would raise the question why anyone would call themselves or work for either republican or democratic class parties.

The process of class corruption, class degeneration has reached epic totalitarian parameters, fascism itself, but the more interesting question should have been how Western democracies became crippled with its degenerative process.

If one were to be more historical, it would be obvious that the Enlightenment and revolutionary, social theories of Liberals had crossed the rubicon of class degeneration, early on, when it failed to follow through its own social agenda to establish a "viable middle" edifice, social agency, to dissolve the class hierarchies that existed under Feudalism, and even earlier, since class history began.

This middle class as the social agency and social mechanism was supposed to be INDIVISIBLE, not fractured, divided, subordinated, corrupted, co opted by other class layers, as a way to establish SOCIAL CONTROL over wealth and inherent human rights. Instead, the social theories of the revolutionary Liberals ACCOMODATED, COMPROMISED with existing class hierarchies, class laws as property laws, establishing THE CRIPPLED CLASS REPUBLIC, via African Capitalist slavery, and later via monopoly wealth and slave markets around the world.

Such crippled class Republics degenerated in the same way as in Plato's time, when he tried to graft his Republic, social democratic experiment into an existing class system, the Patriarchy, only to get a CLASS REPUBLIC that degenerated into class tyrants, class tyranny, and class Empires. Thus once the French Revolution accomodated, through Napoleon class laws, class hierarchies, the revolutionary, social liberals became the class apologists, class whore, class thugs , class elites of today's global Fascism.

Only a complete dismantling of all class hierarchies serving as shock troops for plutocracy can produce a GENERIC SOCIAL CONTROL, free of class corruption.

No stranger than the fact a Republican primary front runner, Perry, use to be a Democrat. People change over time.

Everyone looks towards Ron Paul to be the second coming of Christ, but he is just one man not the Lord himself. If Ron Paul got into office he would realize that there wasnt jacksh*t he could do to pull the U.S. off the crash course its been set on. See the thing about the President is this, sure he can veto what congress tries to pass as law, and congress can in turn do the same thing, and they will. Our government has gone to the point where neither party's will do what makes sense and is good for the people. The Elephant and the Donkey will snub whatever reform or propostion the other side comes up with just because its the other side's deal, NOT because the suppossed proposition makes any sense or doesnt make sense. It has turned into a full on war in the Senate and they no longer care about the american people, but only care about what is best for their party's survival.

Yeah, that's because both parties are run by the bankers. But the stuff I see going on with the republican party is so much scarier than any liberal media propaganda. Republicans are using propaganda techniques that make the Nazi party jealous. Let me be clear, I'm not calling them nazis. Calling people nazis, socialists, et cetera is part of the propaganda and very baby-like. I'm saying their propaganda is better than the nazi's propaganda.

It had been far.....past time to fire them all. Ross Perot was a reviled prophet ahead of his time. Ralph Nader too, perhaps.
But now, maybe from Divine Providence, that force which by miracle, repelled bullets targeting General George Washington, is giving us (ONE) more chance.

I'm an Independent so I'm more likely to notice the talking points being used by both sides. In this case he is using the exact words being used right now by the Democrats. Therefore it stands to reason he is heavily biased to one side. I'm not a Republican attacking a Democrat.

I see both Parties as equally flawed and am disgusted with both Parties equally. No bias in my disgust here. It took both Parties to create this mess, not one.

I'm still considering Paul. Nader however is a phony in my mind. Explain his wealth for instance while considering he has never had a real job, created anything or actually done anything other than being a vocal activist? Nader was a professional Candidate, nothing more.

You are making an assumption in error regarding me. You will find me equally critical of both Parties.

The real danger is locking yourself to a Party Line. Letting them think for you. I know its the path of least resistance, but its the reason we are in this mess. Until we get past these Party Platforms to real Leaders unbeholding to a Party, nothing will be fixed. Party is a dirt word or should be. Partisans are not wise people.

I still don't see the difference between the two parties? They have both been bought out by corporate interests so that's that. Ron Paul is the only one worth anything but do you really think that TPTB are going to let an anti Zionist into the Presidential office? NO WAY. The MSM will do whatever it takes to make sure those checks keep rolling into the state of Israel every year like clockwork. The people of America have become a proverbial cash cow and they are going to keep on milking her until she falls over dead.

(i.e.If you hate the message you must secretly be one)??????????????????????????
Funny I feel the same way about "democratic politicians, policies and platforms( sheer bleeding heart" lunacy")..

Just more partisan drivel ( "My side is good".Your side is" bad")
passed off as insight...
