Some things haven't changed

In light of the political hullabaloo over recent months, I think it is important to reflect upon the past and see things haven't changed much. So many times I have seen political cartoons and essays posted on ATS that could have come from yesterday's papers (or CNN report). I submit another example for amusement and consideration and ask this.. if nothing ever changes, are we insane for doing it over and over?

In a way, yes. I think it is very indicitive as to how powerful the fear of the unkown is to people. People would rather have business as usual than to try something they never have before for the sake of changing things into the better.

They may not like the way things are now, but they're familiar, and that trumps the unknown even though is can't be anything BUT better.

It's illogical at best, and insane at worst.

Indeed fear is a great motivator.... Fear of the unknown being one of the most popular to exploite. And all you have to do is scare the masses and tell them that you will keep them safe. If you are smooth talking enough and offer either hope, prosperity, or someone else to hate, then you're a shoo in.

Do you think that social manipulation and engineering, propaganda, subliminal influence, neuro linguistic programming, media influence, Malthusian theory and drug thought control haven't been researched to the inth degree by rooms full of academics, black op types, and people so scary you can't even imagine their psychological profile.

Nothing is as it seems when viewed from the obvious!!

In fact, I have looked into a lot of that... Social Engineering makes me ill... I won't deny that it is a fact of life.. I just dislike it a lot.
