I was going to use a lot of words to express just this. But you nailed it.

As a Bi' woman I find any reference to same sex 'love' in a negative manner preposterous...One just simply couldn't tolerate this with any other genetic fact.

The genetic fact about black people is they are black... Jews are Jews... gays are attracted and want to be with their own gender...

Really? Where do you live? I honestly don't see it. What I do see is lots of young teen boys who can be mistaken for girls because of their skinny jeans and highlighted funny looking hair. I see them often times with teen girls however, so I don't really see anything reminiscent of homosexuality. Oh hell maybe their shopping buddies

Ugh Fashion, I majored business with a minor in consumer science and let me tell you ....

If there really is a devil, satan, lucifer, cthulu's boos then they would work in fashion, or advertising.

Gays and women are the biggest sheep ever! Your demographics highlight your obsession with material goods more than any other. But what really makes me mad is that most in the data sets usually are clueless as to any of the processes involved in the making of their fashion but think it is worth what they charge due to advertising.

My point, the agenda is to keep you stupid and easy to control. Do not let emotions rule you as they are easily manipulated. (call me a chauvinist if you will but gays and women tend to let their emotions rule them and there are many ways to manipulate those emotions)

Part of the big metro sexual push was to feminize men so they would spend more money on useless consumer goods like fashion.

They won't UNDERSTAND, why they can't touch the stove, until they get burned. Do WE really want to see if that stove is hot??? Will getting burned HELP US understand better?

People have always enjoyed entertainment with gender inversions, and one can go back to ancient times, or even Shakespeare (in my youth fundamentalist Christians wanted him banned from schools, because he allegedly encouraged witchcraft, satanism, transvestism and pre-marital sex).
In fact, female actors were not allowed on stage in patriarchal societies (and this is still the case in some homophobic, patriarchal situations, for example Iran), hence all the female roles were acted by men in drag.

Inverting male/female roles is thus a cornerstone of especially comedy.
Usually it might be the inversion of a woman being an abusive shrew; when men are usually the abusers in heterosexual relationships.
More recently one might find women who act more masculine in that they seek out casual sex like men - but this merely reflects new power positions for women.
Some critics say this is entertainment and social critique, but will never reflect reality.

I'd say the patriarchal conspiracy against women and gays is still prevalent.
Women are either the Madonna or whore, and gays are are simply used as comic devices, or they end up tragically, thus reinforcing patriarchy.
There is a huge debate about gay characters, so if they are a part of a "conspiracy" it is surely the most divisive conspiracy ever!

The fact is that people like seeing gender variation (arguably sometimes to laugh and gawk - like going to the circus, or some "exotic" jungle tribe).
Nobody forces anybody to watch it.
It sounds like sour grapes, because religious television and movies tend to be tedious, camp, kitsch and third rate.
It's not my fault as a gay man that even in the red states people would rather watch "Desperate Housewives" than John Hagee.
Whose fault is that?

Homophobes and religious groups have long manufactured conspiracies.
One thinks of the clumsy 1980s' hoax (apparently believed by fundamentalist Christians) of the "Wicca Letters", which claimed to reveal a pagan agenda of infiltrating schools and entertainment.
The Wiccans became litigious and demanded proof in court that they were satanic or encouraging criminal conspiracies, and when it hit the fundamentalist conspiracy in their pockets (which is all that it's about essentially) they quickly shut up about the Wiccans.

Ultimately it reveals a lack of imagination from homophobic institutions.
They have to capitalize on other people and institutions (just like they have whole cottage industries based on Harry Potter, David Icke and UFOs as being demonic), because their own entertainment ranges from mediocre to dreadful (despite the gay scandals and tranny make-up). Well they don't seem to spend much time on it, or making it better.
They market what they are against (basically everything outside their industries), because what they are for is well known, disputed and boring.

As a gay man I prefer the homoeroticism in programs like "House", or classic movies like "Ben Hur".
And if they show a gay advert, then they better make it hot to get my money.
I don't understand the supposed "gay agenda" in the OP at all.
If I want to make something look attractive I WILL USE A HOT MODEL.
The person who wrote this "conspiracy" in the OP is either very dated, or very not gay.
That's like saying we're going to make gay people straight by bombasting them with images of "mediocre" women.

I watch the odd episode of black comedies like "Sex and the City" or "Desperate Housewives".
It has the odd giggle for me, but ultimately 90 percent of the content concerns the changing gender tensions between men and women. I'm not sure how gays fit into that.

How does the increase in teen pregnancies fit with this "gay agenda"?
I think we need more homoerotic material like the "A Team" or "MacGyver", which will help religious straight people to stay celibate until they get married, at the average Western age of 28.

Yeah, boys in skinny jeans...I call them condoms....with women's hairdo's of the early 1980s. Go ask them, they'll tell you what their sexuality is....they're either gay (or they think they are) or they're A-sexual or bi-sexual. This is a common tactic if someone disagrees with homosexual they automatically get called a closet homosexual. This is ridiculous. By that logic someone that doesn't like vegetables secretly loves them, someone that doesn't like rain secretly loves it, etc. It's a weak attack.

Excellent post. I often say that straights that are offended by gays are usually offended because of their own homsexual tendencies, or their own sexual insecurity.

A straight, gay or any other type of person who is completely comfortable with who they are won't pass judgement on others, as they won't see others as being a threat to their lifestyle.

YOU make your own lifestyle, the actions of others have absolutely no impact at all on YOUR choices. So what, your neighbors are a gay couple? Does this impact your life in any way at all? If you're truly comfortable with yourself and happy with your life choices you won't give two hoots as to what anyone else is doing.

On a side note, the only thing that mildly bugs me is the latest trend of gays claiming "we were born this way". No, you weren't. Your life choices turned you into who you are today. If being gay was genetic, your parents would have been gay, and wouldn't have had sex with a member of the opposite sex in the first place to produce a baby.

Gays claim to be "out and proud" in many cases. Well, if you're proud, why can't you seem to live with the personal responisibility of having made a personal choice to be gay? Claiming that "you were born this way" simply absolves you of any personal responsibility for your life choice, and it isn't true, you're only lying to yourself.

I made a personal choice to be straight, Take personal responsibility for ALL your life choices.

Perhaps one could add that one man's activism is another man's conspiracy.

It is also true that there were different approaches to "gay liberation", and that liberal attitudes now come from the late 1960s, when cultures were both very reactionary and revolutionary.
I think one must go back to a previous context to understand whatever people wrote back then.
Many people laugh at bra-burning feminists now, but few can imagine the limited prospects of women back then.
Women (even Christian female preachers) can laugh now, because they reap the benefits of those "ridiculous" feminists.

We should also recall that there were various approaches to gay liberation and activism.
The social constructionists took their cue from radical feminism and socialist theories.
They are more prevalent in the academies, and they would argue that all gender roles are constructed.
The essentialists would say that gender roles are predetermined by birth.
They would reflect how many gay people feel about their sexuality.

I'd say theoretically the social constructionist views are more of a threat to conservatives.
The problem is that most gay people haven't even heard of this - it's very academic.

So, any gender conspiracy should be carefully framed and directed.
Otherwise it does just come across as homophobic, because it implies the ridiculous notion that all gay people get together by candlelight and plot some kind of revolution!
