I'm using Windows 7. It was "produced" by a very competent American corporation. My computer does not have any "malware" on it, nor is it "insecure." I have "complete control" over what I do with my computer, with the added bonuses of incredible simplicity and productivity. Whether the software I use is open source or not is of no concern to me. I have no qualms about rewarding the programers who wrote the software I benefit from every day, be it Windows, Office, Norton, Final Draft, DreamWeaver, etc.

You are sticking your head in your backside here ... you have absolutely NO clue of what you are talking about.

Bill Gates started with Basic, which originally was bought from another person ... Bill Gates didn't invent any of it, he just bought it. It got famous from being the core of CBM (Commodore Business Machines), the Pet, and some other. Bla bla bla ... the programmers, never benefittet from it. Most of what "WE" did, was stolen from us without giving us anything in return ... most of "US" ended up in a situation where we had our "professors" put up a trap, to throw us out of school ... or, out of our jobs, etc.

Today Microsoft Windows is a bloated malware, literally speaking. It takes years for it to boot, even when run on a thousand times faster computer, than it originally was intended for. It's constantly communicating over the internet, information you have "no control over" whatsover.

Linux, isn't much better though ... it's a further development of Xenix, which originally belonged to Microsoft, and was taken out of the company by Bill Gates companion.

BSD is the original Unixware, that developed by Kernigan and Richie, along with the C programming language. It's the only true thing around there, and just about everything in Windows, is stolen from ... in one way or another. Microsoft used to use Xenix as a way to "take" things from it, to DOS. And later, Linux on the internet is crawling with WIndows developers that are literally taking everything free from developers around the world, without giving them so much as a penny for their effort.

So, get a clue please ...

I dont think the government should have the authority you say it should. In fact unless you are a politian doing everything the constitution says not to, I think AMERICANS overall are very kind and considerate people. Now there are those that are not. [Politians government so on and so forth. I love my country and love the ideas listed in the constitution, bill of rights and declaration of independance. I hate my government and everything it is about. The constitution was and the forementioned documents were created to keep out governments like democracys, socialism, librals and so forth. This country is supposed to be a republican country. I totally agree with you. I think the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AND POLITIANS think they have these imaginary inhereiant abilitys. Do not condeem a nation on what a polititan or president says to brainwash people and spread propaganda. I for one as an american says that the government and politians do not speak for me.

Some Americans do blindly follow and participate in government. Others prefer to be rational and self-sufficient.
As for me, I only think for myself, and for the best interests of my family.

Why should I care about Bill Gates? How do that man’s actions, past or present, affect my personal life day to day? I have no idea and don't care who did what and when to whom bla bla bla. I'm not a programmer. I don't care about languages, what code belonged to what software, etc. If you're mad that Microsoft has 90% market share that's your right, but to seriously tell people to not use Windows is tinfoil hat tomfoolery.

I'm not a crack head, so I have the patience to turn a computer on and wait a few seconds for it to boot. My system is a first generation AMD Spider desktop, so it's not that quick, but I have definitely never had any complaints about speed. I don't know what hardware you're packing but 7 boots up quicker than all previous iterations. Even if it loaded ten times slower, so what? I survived Windows 98. Why should I care about the size of a Windows installation? And I'm sure that Windows communicates over the internet. That's what the internet is for. Just about every other program does so too. Imagine that! Also, perhaps you should look up the definition of "malware."

Crimsongod, I see your point, really I do. What are the defining factors of your life that brought you here? I was a little child when my father started to tell me about the JFK assassination. He took me to see JFK when I was 11, and even though it was over 3 hours, it was an amazing experience. I attribute my "street smarts" to him and how he raised me, to not be trusting of people. Do we blame people for not stepping outside of their box and not getting caught up in the lies that go around them?

Not everyone has the blessing of growing up with a father like mine. If it were not for him, would I be here today? Its hard to say for sure. I do agree, laziness is not an excuse for anything. Thanks for your reply.

You know what, petrus? Where are you exactly from? I can't stand it when someone starts a thread railing against America when you don't even say your country of origin. I am from America, and I'll say it out loud. Why don't you do the same?

And I'm supposed to please listen to you.

I am becoming exceedingly tired of encountering Americans online, who continue to imply that their government has inherent moral authority, purely because of the fact that it is their government.

I am becoming exceedingly tired of encountering nonAmericans online, who continue to imply that their government has inherent moral authority, purely because of the fact that their government is not American.

So, there! We're even!

Balance is good, no?

Al Capone had a much clearer and more lucid understanding of exactly what your government is, than most of you do. He once said that the only difference between his organisation and the government, was that the government had more money, more guns, and more men.

Please try to understand this. A government is nothing more than a regional monopoly on physical violence. That is literally all. The monopoly is solely on violence; not on moral integrity, or moral authority. Government has no form of inherent moral legitimacy in and of itself, whatsoever. It is no less a form of organised crime than any other. The only difference between it and the Yakuza or Mafia, is quite literally its' size.

Your government is a fascist racket, that is run by elitist psychopaths who do not care about you, to any degree whatsoever. They do not, in practice, serve in any way as the guarantor of your wellbeing, or your freedom. You might still care about what the Constitution says, but the simple fact of the matter is that the people currently inhabiting your government do not.

Another thing that I am fed up with. I am fed up with you going robotically back to the polls every four years, regardless of the fact that you get lied to and manipulated every single time, simply because you don't know what else to do.

Please, hear this. The Republic is DEAD, at this point. D-E-A-D. It has been dead at least since Bush got into office.

Government cannot save you. It cannot help you. Ron Paul is not going to be the guarantor of your interests any more than any other President; and the only reason why some of you are desperate to believe that he will be, is because you are desperate, at any and all costs, to avoid having to do what I am going to describe next.

You need to begin to behave as though THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT, at all; because truthfully, in legitimate terms, you really do not have a government now. You had a Constitutional Republic once. It protected people's rights, for the short time it lasted. But it is gone now. The psychopaths who have subverted the institution, are no longer adhering to its' rules. Many of you need to go and watch V for Vendetta again, and then you need to develop yourselves...and I mean really develop...the attitude that Evey had, where she was willing to be shot rather than do as she was told.

Keep the Constitution. Keep that recognition of your basic rights. Most of you living today, don't have anywhere near as much of an appreciation of your freedom as you should have, and that is why you have currently lost it. There are, however, a number of other things which you need to begin to do.

  • Take a course from here, (www.permaculture.org...) and begin growing your own food. The FDA have been raiding, to an increasing degree, people who try and start organic farms, and grow healthy food. There needs to be a large enough group of people doing this, that the FDA and USDA have no chance of stopping all of you.

  • Get BSD certification, and stop using a corporate produced, insecure, malware-infested operating system for connecting to the Internet. The BSDs are open source, and completely monetarily free. If you use them, you can have complete control over what you do with your computer.

  • Become familiar with the books in this list, and begin giving both your children and yourselves the sort of education that your Constitution's authors would have had.

  • Learn to build geodesic domes, to give yourselves cheap housing, that just about anyone can build. Apparently there is a lot of derelict land in America now, as well as a lot of people who need homes. You can use that land!

Abandon your government. Just leave it behind. Don't vote, and don't pay any attention to it whatsoever. Believe me when I say that the one thing that the government is really scared of, more than anything else, is simply being ignored by a group of people who realise that ultimately, the only thing government has over them at all, is the ability to physically kill them. It has nothing positive to offer you, and no real hold over you, either.

Let it go. Do not wait for Ron Paul to improve your lives. He won't. You need to start improving your lives yourselves.

The only thing here that I would agree with you on is your statement for people to not wait for someone else to improve their lives and do so themselves.

continued.....Our system...although now partially derailed...is still better by far than any other system out there. I have traveled extensively and there is no other country of this size or population that has a populous as well off both monetarily and socially.

As far as our Militaristic nature...that came about because Europe has been so screwed up for Millenia. We were dragged into conflict more than once and many of our people died to help others. This has not ocurred the other way around as many people love to bitch...but only we are the ones to actually put our money where our mouth is.

It seems our only hope is to bring back our Military in the hope of a Military coup, to take back our Republic!
I believe most of the Military is on our side. At least the Enlisted and some Officers! Most of the Generals are part of the problem.
The Government will try to declare Martial Law and will use the U.N. Troops to try and take over. We out number them greatly! There are 100 million gun owners in this Country! Keep the faith and pray often!
May God Bless this Nation and All you American Patriots!

ummmm oooooook.... This country that we live in right here and right now was not supposed to be a republican country, see this....

Main article: History of the United States Republican Party Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican President (1861–1865) Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States (1901–1909) Dwight Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States (1953-1961) Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States (1981–1989) Founded in Northern States in 1854 by anti-slavery activists, modernizers, ex-Whigs and ex-Free Soilers, the Republican Party quickly became the principal opposition to the dominant Democratic Party and the briefly popular Know Nothing Party.
(source)

also see this link to read about the first party system as seen from a poli sci point of view.

The first two political parties in America - Federalist and Democratic-Republicans....

just think both our major political parties here in the good ol' USA used to be the same party...

this has been a history lesson

Thank you and good day/night depending on your location in this universe.

Life for me is good. My government paves my streets, collects taxes for such things as school for my children and infrastucture like paving roads, operating sewage and running water. The erect traffic lights and road signs to facilitate proper traffic flow, and control zoning of buildings. This is a good thing, i dont want a hog farm moving in next to my house.

Your short sighted and only see the bad. There is a lot of it, much too much, and it needs to be fixed, but not your way.

Oh, and im in Canada. Not sure where you live, but it sounds sad.

Ps. I agree wholeheatedly with Split Infinity. I have travelled all over the world, and you can complain all you want, but we in the West live very comfortable lives. And i agree completely with the message of self-sufficiency. But I found my self-sufficiency in my home country, govermnent and all.

I must admit I rapidly grew weary of reading your post. I have heard and read it all before.

I will also admit that for the little I did read I must agree atleast in part.

I don't think I have ever claimed that we in the U S have the best possible system of government.

I will say though that we have the best one which has come along so far.

Show me a better place to live with a better governing system and I will be glad to move there!!!!
